Anytime Fitness — Local services in Knoxville

This is clean gym with nice equipment, but when it comes time to cancel your contract, EVEN AT THE END OF YOUR CONTRACT TERM, the ownership has purposefully made it a difficult, long, and a unprofessional experience for the sake of making themselves more money.

I called the gym to cancel my contract at the end of the term and the employees at the gym told me that they couldn't cancel it for me, and that I had to go online to do so. Long story short, ABC Financial Services owns Anytime Fitness and leverage a terrible cancellation policy to make you pay even more money during a 30 day waiting period after you email them that you want to cancel, which was exasperated because they did not respond to my emails. I sent them my cancellation request and they never processed it, so I had to send it again a month later when I noticed the charge to my card. I ended up paying for an additional 2 months because of their slow response time.

If you do not pay these charges and block them on your card, they claim they will send the bills to collections and will not process your cancellation... thus continuing to add bills to your collections.

Please, do yourself and the rest of Knoxville a favor and give your $40/month to someone else. There are many nice, privately owned gyms in the area that are open late and will keep your money in Knoxville. Anytime Fitness is a money first business that cares more about bleeding its potential customers dry than providing a good product and...

If you’re looking for a gym that isn’t as large and crowded as NFS or Gold’s Gym, this is the gym for you. It is smaller than those gyms, but there is never ever large of a crowd where you can’t use something. It’s got several machines, dumbbell area, three squat racks, smith machine, cardio machines, and a nice area to stretch. The studio was recently turned into a physical therapy place, so unfortunately there is not an area to workout that is more closed off and secluded from people. That is my only downside. There are also TRX straps, bands, weighted balls, and mats. This gym is also much cleaner than those larger gyms. When I workout during the day I regularly see them cleaning it. I also love that I can come anytime by scanning in even during unstaffed hours. There are plenty of cameras around watching the area and a large windows to look out of. I have been coming here since when it roughly opened and I still love it....

Full disclosure: I don't attend this gym anymore, as I decided to invest in a home gym. However, that was a realization of a goal rather than a reflection against this gym. I attended this location for a year and I was a big fan. I found the owner, Chad, and trainer, Jason, to be really pleasant, helpful, and responsive. As they were still opening and investing in equipment, I made a suggestion and about a week later they had purchased what I suggested (it was a trap bar.) Now that they're up and running, I doubt that be doing that anymore but I do believe they care about the customer experience. I liked the selection of equipment, although as a personal opinion I'd urge them to dump the Smith machine for another bench/squat rack with adjustable safeties. Never too crowded when I was there, even at times that might traditionally be busier. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean and having a shower there was clutch....
