First of all, I'd like to say that I'm very pleased with my actual product. I bought two black Darcy sofas. They were an excellent price. They're very comfy. I've had out of town guests stay on them with no complaints. The "overstuffed" style is great for lounging. I will say that if you have pets, I would stay away from the black color. It would definitely pick up any and all pet hair. I highly recommend these sofas.
However, DO NOT PAY FOR DELIVERY. Hire a couple of guys and pick it up yourself if you must support this business. It was by far the worst delivery experience I've ever encountered. Very little consideration for the customer is given. Complete waste of $200. This was also referred to as "premium delivery". I expect more when I pay that much to have something delivered.
Their process is that they give you an estimated day. If you're lucky and that's the day that it's actually going to be delivered then they call you that morning to let you know your estimated delivery time. After waiting all morning I finally received a call around 11:30. I called once around 10:30 to inquire as to if I could get an estimate on when they would know. The lady who answered the phone said, "we don't know. They're still loading the truck" and grumbled at me as though I were being rude for even thinking she could give me that information.
At 11:30 I was given a 3 hour window during which my sofa might be delivered. Mine was not delivered in that 3 hour window. By this point it was 4 o'clock. I had already taken off work one day to deal with this and couldn't afford to take another day off if there was a delay.
So once again I called my friend at customer service. She was not pleased to hear from me again. If the tone of her voice didn't give it away, I'd certainly be able to tell by the way that she had no consideration for the fact that I needed to ensure that my sofas were delivered that day. She treated me as a true inconvenience. She said she'd "try to contact the delivery people, but there's just not much I can do". I said I'd appreciate it and we hung up. I never heard back from my friend at customer service... although I guess I shouldn't have expected her to follow up with me.
Finally around 4:45, I heard from the delivery drivers. They were on their way!! Hooray! Although at this point I probably could have gone to work and just left a little early... I must say that the two gentlemen that actually delivered the sofas were very kind. They were in and out of my home very quickly. They were courteous and apologized for the delays. It was refreshing to have interactions with someone from the company that cared.
To summarize... I do enjoy my furniture, but because of the unpleasant experience I had while trying to get it delivered I will never purchase anything from this store ever again. Do yourself a favor and go...
Read moreWe went to Ashley Furniture recently and found two couches we loved. Told the salesperson( I wasnt going to mention their name, but since reading other reviews and them having a very similar experience with her....Sarah, whose parents "own Knoxville Wholesale and also manage Ashley Furniture as well" as she told us right off the bat) weâd already had a nightmare experience at another store(we hadn't mentioned where yet, but ended up being the store they owned. đ) and were looking for something we loved that was in stock. So she goes to check on both the ones we picked out... âI absoluelty get it, when you buy a couch you don't want to be sitting in lawn chairs waiting on it. You want it then. But great news, both are in stock and you could pick them up tomorrow" We pick our favorite, triple-checked that we can pickup the next day, and even go ahead and sell our current couch with the buyer scheduled to pick it up this Thursday...because again, we were told this new one was available and good to go. The next morning, we call like we were told to, they say theyâll send the order over, so we drive 45 minutes, rent a trailer, burn gas, get there, wait around for 45 more minutes, and then, surprise...they donât actually have the couch. Mind you...we called them at 10, didnt get there to pickup until after 1 olock. No one called to say it wasn't there. No one knows when itâll come in. All they could offer was free delivery... whenever it randomly shows up.
So now we have family headed in at the beginning of July and lawn chairs to sit on. For the ones reading this, thinking, âWell whyâd you wait so long in the first place?â thats part 1 of this ordeal: Ashley Furniture is also ran by the same people that own Knoxville Wholesale in case you didnt know...thats important to the story. đ Back in February, we ordered a couch from Knoxville Wholesale Clearance, and were told 6â8 weeks for it to arrive. At week 8, we called, only to be told they had just ordered it four days ago and it would now be another 45 days. Frustrating, but we waited. At day 50, we checked in againâthey couldnt look then because 'their system was messed up and they'll get in touch'. Five days later we called back.....still no couch. âIt hasnât made it into port yet. Maybe 3 more weeks.â Thatâs when we canceled and set out to look for another one. So now, here we are: almost couchless, with family visiting in less than a month, out money for gas, a rented trailer, and time weâll never get back. And the best part? Weâre 3 days away from sitting on the floor (or the lawn chairs we joked about)of an empty living room and paying for a couch we donât even have or know when we'll get. 10/10. Would absolutely...
Read moreAshley Furniture was offering a special up to 50% off, plus an additional 10% off for military members, and up 60 months zero percent financing and free delivery. We went to the store at 11051 Turkey Dr in knoxville tn 37934 on 11/25/2022. Frederick Williams helped us pick out 2 bedroom sets, mattresses, and a dining room table and chairs. Individual bedroom set pieces had yellow sale tags on them marked as $899.99 for bed frame, $499.99 for dresser and mirror, and $199.99 for nightstand. We asked for him to write up a proposal to include 2 beds, 2 nightstands and 1 dresser & mirror and I mentioned the military discount at the time as well. He came back with a package price of $1099.99 for 1 bed frame, 1 nightstand, and dresser & mirror and individual prices for the 2nd bed frame and nightstand and when looking at the pricing, it came out better by a penny to add a 2nd dresser & mirror so we wrote up 2 package sets for the $1099.99. We then added 2 mattresses for $299.99 which was their sale price and a dining room table and 6 chairs that was not on sale for $1599.99. With taxes, delivery, everything came up to $5025.43. I asked if the military discount was applied and he said no and that he cannot discount anymore because of the sale prices and the way he packaged the bedroom sets. I asked about using the military discount on the dining room set since it was not on sale and he said it was all on the same invoice and he could not discount anymore. I asked about the free delivery and he said they use a third party delivery and not Ashley Furniture delivery and with what he charged, it is for delivery and set up so I agreed to the amount. Either way, I agreed to the $5025.43 and he said he could only do 36 months on the financing so we agreed and paid for everything. He called 2 hours later and said they could not honor the package pricing and I either pay the $1000 dollar difference or he would cancel the deal. That's not what I signed for. I want what...
