Tia’s Tacos — Restaurant in Knoxville

If you are dining in just know this place is incredibly hot even with the portable ac unit. The street corn is a small bowl of corn with a heavy amount of mayonnaise. That was the worst street corn I've ever hard it was like eating a bowl of corn and mayo. The steak taco was awful it was very heavily loaded with onion and cilantro. I would have liked a salsa or hot sauce option to add to it, but the meat was overcooked to the point it was crunchy which ruined the taco for me. At this point I was very dissatisfied for choosing to waste my money here. The last thing I had was the Chipotle chicken burrito. Again the meat was over cooked to the point of being crunchy, but only some of it. The burrito was bigger then I expected so that was nice. It saved my meal from being a complete disaster. The burrito wasn't good enough to ever come back, but was good enough that I didn't feel I completely wasted my time. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place to everyone, but seeing that they had a 4.8 stars I wanted to see the hype. Stopped by on our way to Nashville and was SO pleasantly surprised! I got the gordita with carnitas. The corn flour shell had a wonderful corn flavor and was crispy and tender. The carnitas were delicious. There are several salsa choices, but the creamy green one is absolutely delicious and was my favorite. I smothered the whole gordita with it. I had a fantastic margarita, and it wasn't at all too sour-mix-y, which I really appreciated (and is a common gripe at most neighborhood Mexican joints). It didn't lack authority and tasted refreshing and well balanced. I ordered churros for dessert. I was only able to eat one, but there are at least four per order! Food never ready when promised. Jacked up prices. Meat tastes charred/burnt. Customer service nonexistent and sometimes downright rude. Much better options around with better service.

We decided to try again ONE more time based on the response from restaurant below. We ordered, indicating a special change in comments (not a price altering one) and paid extra for guacamole. While this time the food was ready when promised, there was no greeting upon arrival, and the customization was not done, nor was there guacamole we had paid extra for.
