I came in at approximately 8:30 p.m. on 2/17 to return a Christmas gift I received.
There was one older woman working the returns and exchanges. I told her I had a return, and she asked if I had a receipt. I said no, and I explained that the item I was returning was gifted TO me. I told her I had the packing slip, and showed it to her. She shook her head and said the packing slip was useless.
She asked if I had the Target app, and I replied that I did. She said she could look up the receipt there, but again, I said it was gifted to me. Then, in a condescending tone, she said, âI mean yeah, if YOU didnât purchase this then I canât look up the receipt on YOUR appâŚâ Okay, so why did YOU bring up the app in the first place?
She said she would scan the item, but I would have to be willing to take the lowest sale price from recent weeks if I wanted to return it. Thatâs pretty standard, and I didnât mind, so I said that was okay. She scanned the item, then said, âActually, itâs over $100, and you can only return $100 worth of merchandise per year. I canât do anything since itâs more than $100.â I ended up leaving with the 30 pound item I struggled to haul in there in the first place.
According to Targetâs website, they DO accept packing slips in leu of receipts. Additionally, Targetâs website also states, âIf you don't have the gift receipt or packing slip, you may receive a merchandise return card.â Thereâs also NO mention of âcustomers can only return $100 worth of merchandise a yearâ on the website.

   Read moreSince the remodel I hate the layout due to not enough product. The employees did not know anything about shipment. When asked they responded slowly but surely. Asked a few people including a manger. This was my favorite store to stop just to walk around and to experience seasonal decor which magnolia is taking up most of the space now. The dollar section used to be amazing and always seemed to be stocked but now itâs a hot mess. I gave it time for the remodel and have been in a few times now and used to spend hours shopping now I could not wait to leave. There is something to be said about lighting and aisle placement. The new lighting is really harsh and the aisle placement makes feel a discount kohlâs store. Also the clothes are cramped into each other making it difficult to take your time and buy clothes. There will not be a meat dept in the new remodel. It just overall has left a bad taste in my mouth and since I have anxiety I have to continue to shop online. Honestly this target and aldi are my only two places I shop in store. I am not a huge shopper and donât go shopping everywhere else. Just a sad day really. Could not get any help from employee and felt like I could be comfortable enough to shop when everything is so spread out and not organized.    Read morei love target! itâs so fun and i spend hours walking around and browsing things. on this specific day that i went, i was in self-check out paying for my items. i wanted to use some of my target circle earnings, but only want to use $2 or $3 out of it. keep in mind that i has $11 saved up. at the time i didnât think of putting half of my balance on my card and paying the rest with target circle. so, i asked this lady for some help. i asked politely for her to come over and addressed the situation. she wasnât very polite and was more invested in the conversation with her co-worker. she answered my question, by telling how to put all of my target circle savings in. i told her i only wanted to use a couple of dollars because i didnât have enough on my debit card. she answered again with the same response. i explained once more, and yet again the same response. i said thanks, even though she didnât help at all. she resumed taking to her co-worker. i just decided to give in and use all of my target circle that took me around 1-2 months to save. i started back at square 1, 2 weeks in and i have $2. đ i was so sad i had to use all of my savings because iâve been trying to save for something nice. overall, my satisfaction with store appearance is a 5/5, but i would rate my staff customer...
