Big 5 is just like any other sports and outdoors stores, some prices good some high, but they have it. Well maybe they don’t, I walked into the LaQuinta store probably an hour before closing and was greeted by a friendly employee that asked if he could help me find anything particular and I in fact was there for a particular item so thought wow, I don’t have to roam around. I looked him straight in the eye and asked where I could find pistol holsters and his jaw dropped, kinda fumbled and stuttered out if we carry anything like that it would be for airsoft guns and not a real one. Then kinda asked why I would need a real one.

I thought that was pretty funny to get a frantic reaction to an everyday question.

Come on America, life is not that bad calm down and grow a pair.

I have been going here for 5 years for really one reason… to buy wrestling shoes to donate to young athletes that don’t have any. Each year I buy on average 12 pair. Yesterday I went in to buy 3 pair and asked if they would give me a discount (they have EVERY other time) of 10% off or the last sale price. They said no. No one was allowed to make a decision except the main manager who obviously didn’t empower her employees to make even the smallest decisions on their own. Went in on Veterans Day and it was pretty busy. I had ordered something that had come in so I was there to pick it up. That process was easy and fast. The manager was there directing employees as it was busy. He did so in a manner so that things ran efficiently. I talked to him briefly. I could tell he was the type of manager that was fair with his employees and really cared about the customer too. The type of manager that would rectify a situation or problem if you approached him with one.
