La Quinta Park has gone downhill so badly in the last 10 years. It is unsafe to walk your dog there. My dog has been attacked twice and bitten severely once. People that were responsible would not admit what they're unleashed dogs did. Also, La Quinta Park fails to enforce the leash law that has been in effect for years. It looks more like an open dog park than a park where you can walk your dog on a leash and not worry about other dogs attacking you. The Riverside county animal control. I have complained to them many times taking pictures and given to them and they still do not come out and watch and observe all these people breaking the law. They tell me that there's only two people for the whole county and that their hours are 9:00 to 5. I explain that the majority of the people who break the law there come between 6:00 and 8:00 in the morning. Again, it is unsafe and I don't recommend it for people who have children because these...
Read moreI've always liked this park. Very clean and well maintained. Back in 2005-2006 when I was attending LQHS, we would simply sit at the park after school while waiting for our rides and we were frequently bullied/harassed by police/sheriff deputies and forced to leave for whatever reason. One time during normal park hours, they even told us, "The park is closed, you should be on your way now." When I would point out that there were still countless people in the park, they simply responded, "Ok, but it's closed to you guys, don't make this harder than it has to!" Thankfully those days are over (I hope). Nowadays, it's a bit more welcoming. I can peacefully go for a walk along the pathway, enjoy the location and use the restroom without being intimidated by law...
Read moreI leave about 4 blocks from the park, but I prefer to drive about 4 miles or so to another park in Palm Desert for the reason that I have big dogs and I like to walk them early morning on a leash as it is the law. However; there will always be irresponsible dog owners who think the laws don't apply to them and let their dogs run loose all over the place. (LQ animal control should be patrolling those parks often and issue citations) I've only seen them a couple of times in the afternoon seating in their trucks eating lunch. LOL 😆 However; as I'm walking, their untrained dogs come charging towards mine, and I have to work hard to keep my dogs from eating theirs even though they are at fault. Just an FYI: La Quinta Park DOES NOT have a dog dedicated...
