My first interactions with PSCR was with the Owner Shawn. Shawn had done a ton of work for family friends and the employees and friends of businesses like Thompsons Furniture in Tumwater and Tanglewilde Lumber/ Mountain view lumber in Yelm. My first comment on Shawn as an owner is he knows and appreciates the value of a long lost practice in business, GOOD REFERRALS to LOCAL business.

So when it came time to have my custom desktop built the choice was easy. PSCR got my desktop built that solved every business and creative need I had. Years and years of quality operations, and I think three versions of Windows later, when it came time for our next purchase PSCR was on the top of the list.

My wife wanted a Mac Notebook so that she could have a seamless experience across all her Mac devices, iPhone, iPad, and an iPad mini in lieu of her Windows 8 laptop. In her small business, management of her sales, and an extensive photo catalog meant this seamless functionality made her life and operations easier. The reconditioned Mac Notebook came in FLAWLESS, even for a used device. Again, the efforts of PSCR showed, Shawn recommended a Mac Mouse, although pricey, is not only beautiful but also works via Bluetooth so no wires, HUGE for my wife whose been wireless on her mouse devices winces Windows Vista I think. :)

Most recently, I needed a Chrome Book for the graphic design work I do. Since I need to be mobile 80-90% of the time, the cloud driven Chrome Book is perfect for my needs. It arrived on time, and TJ did a great job of giving me a quick summary of what to do to get it up and running at home. I'm already using it in lieu of the larger much heavier laptop. My next purchase will be a Desktop Mini PC or Mac mini for my graphic design use at home, of course PSCR is already on my radar for that.

EDIT: In early 2019 I returned to PSCR for a new MacBook. Shawn and his team were once again there for me, and got me back on my game with a late 2018 MacBook Pro. I do PT graphic design and the mobility of the device creates an amazing user experience. Shawn assisted with setup so when I got home, all I had to do was log into my wifi and name my machine. Again, a 5 star interaction.

In In short, PSCR is local but acts and performs with a level of service MUCH BIGGER than their humble location. Not only are they great at what they do, they are the ONLY business I refer others to regularly because of the big hearts of Shawn and his staff. Big city service level, with small town authenticity. We are new to the Seattle area and do not know a lot of people to ask around about services. I frequently use Craig’s List for information. I checked the computer section and found someone to come my house. He seemed very friendly and sat at my computer for a while clicking the mouse a lot. When he was done, about 45 minutes later, he told me that it would be $75.00. I paid him and he went on his way. After he left, I sat down at my computer and realized that it worked for maybe a day or two and then all of the problems came back. He also managed to turn my print spooler completely off and I had no idea how to turn it back on. I tried to call him several times, but he never returned my calls. Needless to say, lesson learned. I thought I would never use anyone off of Craig’s List without a reference. Then it came time to fix the original problem and additional problems that had been building on our computer since our first guy and went back to Craig’s List. I didn’t go with the first person I called. I actually just used my “mom” sensors. I called Shawn and he answered the phone immediately. We talked for about 15 minutes and he told me that he would be at my house THAT EVENING! He came in with arms full of stuff. I immediately knew that he meant business. He was very professional and greeted all of my family like old friends. He brought my husband and I up to speed on all the problems on our computer and helped us understand what he was doing to fix them. He was very friendly and we made lots of small talk! He even talked with my kids! He ended up having to stay for almost 3 hours and stuck with the price he originally quoted us, even though it took a lot longer than he thought. After leaving our house, he has followed up with us several times to make sure that everything is still working okay. He also told us that if we ever have any problems in the future just to call him to see if it is a quick fix for over the phone.

I have too many good things to say about Shawn and his business, so I will do my very best to keep this concise.

Shawn was professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly in my opinion, honest. I unknowingly came into the shop right after they had closed. Despite them being closed, Shawn stayed hours after they closed to make sure that my computer was up and running and was in good condition. He also made sure to check multiple systems on my computer so he could properly diagnose the issue, and not chalk up the issues to one system when it could have been multiple.

During the entire process, Shawn answered my questions, taught me things I could do in the future to keep my computer running well, and even showed me how to do some repairs on my own so I could save some money. He was incredibly knowledgeable. Additionally, like I said, this process took a couple of hours, and not once did he make me feel like I was overstaying my welcome. In his mind, he was going to stay until we solved the problem. Whether that took 2 hours, or 4 hours, he was there.

Finally, Shawn was incredibly honest. I know a little about computers, but of course not even close to his level. Because of this, he could have easily charged me for things that I didn't even know existed and I would have complied because I simply don't know. Instead, Shawn did the exact opposite. He clearly ruled out certain issues that he could have charged me an insane amount for without me knowing, but he didn't. The issue was fairly minor and that was it. No shady moves from Shawn at all, and that was so nice to see!

I told Shawn this and I will live by this... anything computer related whether I run into another issue, or I need to buy a part, I will be going through Puget Sound Computer Repair. Shawn's professionalism, knowledge, and honesty set an extremely high bar that no other computer repair store will ever...
