This review is regarding my experience on Wed, Feb 7, 2024 the second floor Kitchen department. I was greeted by an older caucasian woman. Slender with short hair. I was interested in purchasing a stainless steel skillet pan that I saw online. As soon as I found the skillet I saw there was a check out with at least more than 10 people waiting in line. I decided I didn't want to wait in that line so I went to the woman that greeted me since she wasn't busy at all at another check out area. I asked her for a price check on the skillet, she seem nice and scanned it for me. And it was on sale just like on the website but I mention that it has more of a discount online and how would I go about that. Now this is where things went downhill. She was explaining to me that I would need to find get a coupon bar code and I was looking on my phone on the jcpenney website. She seem to get frustrated with me because I couldn't find it. Mind you, I'm not savvy tech and nor familiar with the jcpenney website. She was talking to me with a condescending tone as if I was a kid and she was the Principal. I was totally not feeling her vibe at all at this point. She even had the nerve to take my phone to show me, I didn't appreciate her even touching my phone, that was completely rude. I didn't get her name but this left me with a bad taste in my mouth. This behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. She shouldn't be working in sales, better off...
Read moreMy first impression of this store was TERRIBLE. When I came in they were doing these incredibly loud and static-filled announcements over the intercom. Not just communicating with one another or providing crucial information to shoppers, but doing these whole cheesy adverts over the intercom. I basically didnt want to return after that. However, my husband needed dress clothes and he loves JCPenny, so back we went. This time the store was quiet, and a gentleman in the men's formalwear department helped us out. He truly went above and beyond, helping my husband select a blazer, 2 shirts and a tie that he can use for job interviews. My husband looked quite dapper, I was happy, he was happy, and the sales associate was friendly and accommodating. We never felt pushed to go out of our budget, but man oh man... when your hubby looks that handsome, you find the extra money for the tie. We walked away happy, and we will definitely be returning the next time we need...
Read moreJCPenney's is located at the end of the Lakewood Mall over by MCDonalds. The traffic can be very congested in this area especially during the holidays.
They gave almost everything you could want here. The downfall is the aisles are very narrow especially in the clothing departments. It is hard to move within these departments especially if there are quite a few people. There are no hopping carts Sonu end up carrying everything. The mesh bags do not help much either.
Shoes are very hard to try on as they are held together with a electronic sensor. I asked if they could just put one on each so I could try them on and actually walk with them. They said no. I have very sensitive feet so I need to walk in them before I buy shoes which I explained to them. Still a no so I left without buying any.
Certain employees are very nice and helpful but others are rude and condescending.
The bathrooms are located upstairs on the third floor....
