Lion and Blue — Local services in Lakewood

I googled them & it says they close at 7pm so I got there at 5:50pm & picked out my items. I was just told by an employee they were closing & it was 5:59pm. I called them twice as soon as I left, knowing there were at least 2 employees inside & they didn't even answer the phone when I called. Nice. If you want people to shop local, you let them shop. Or at least nicely mention they'll be closing shortly & give me a few minutes to make a purchase. I couldn't imagine turning a store guest down when they're trying to give you money. I came here to buy bday presents, a thank you gift & a necklace for myself but had to leave with nothing. I even had $150 worth of items picked out, which was almost everything. They did tell me to come back tomorrow.. which I guess will be a better day for them to accept my money? I specifically drove out of my way to buy locally. Won't happen again. Customer service & kindness go a long way & it doesn't take much to leave a bad enough impression for a loyal customer to...

I’m honestly ashamed it’s taken this long to leave a Google review. This is my go to shop for note worthy gifts or just something fun for myself. Tina and her employees are always welcoming and helpful, no matter how busy they are. They support the community and worthwhile causes. During the time of Covid, they are consistently compliant with the CDC guidelines. The products are sourced from all over the world, and primarily hand made. There’s something for everyone at very fair prices. They have an awesome selection of clothes as well that are both unique and comfortable. Lion and Blue is always a fun place to visit. We always come here after eating at Root. The two just seem to go hand-in-hand, so it's great that they are right by each other. Now, I'm not really one for little mystical gifts/tchotchke, but I really find this place fun. First time I went in was with a friend who loved it, so after having lunch with her at Root, we went in. I really didn't think I would buy anything, but left with some rocks and Amber Patchouli oil :) It was really fun looking around, and they have a lot of interesting things. Great place to browse with a friend. And it smells really good...
