I gave them a 2 star because they have a good product and 1.5 was not possible. ..however...they are incapable of running a business and, even if this was NOT the case, incapable of attesting to their word...which is bad business. My spouse and I have made a LOT of trip to get donuts because as said, they have good donuts...but there were multiple times (in winter) that one of us had to stand in the cold waiting for them to open due to failure to prepare or waiting on someone to get the place running as they have a schedule but open late more than 50% of the time and close early due to sell out so they really DON'T have a schedule. Also, they have a tendency to close for the day last minute due to being overwhelmed or needing a mental health day...this wouldn't be such an issue if they were competent during the tines they were present. I really wanted to get my old neighbor to check this place out as he is a food reviewer with multiple millions of followers on social media but I didn't even want to disrespect his time by talking him into it. They also are very adamant about not doing pre orders which makes it near impossible for customers that can not make it on THEIR schedule to get their product. Running a business is hard work and I just think that if they are unable to perform the necessary tasks then they should sell orfigure out a new and more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe donuts are great. It's a shame the service is so bad. I got there a few minutes before their listed opening time and got in line with 2 other people in front of me. I wanted to get there around when they opened so that they wouldn't be sold out of the flavors my family wanted to try and i also had made plans to have someone over to have donuts with us at 9:30. A couple minutes after 9, someone comes out and mumbles something and puts a sign on the door that says they're now opening at 9:20. So everyone is standing out in the cold and they finally let us in at 9:30. They did not have several of the varieties in stock that were advertised online and a few other kinds, they only had a couple of them. There was no strawberry, no hostess, no puppy chow. No discount or anything was offered for the 30 min delay/lack of stock. And I found out this is the 2nd day in a row they opened late.
Running late happens but for 2 days in a row, having everyone wait outside, and then not even being well stocked is pretty bad customer service. I think to make things better, they could at least offer to let people wait inside or give some kind of discount and at the VERY least, make sure they have decent stock of their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the pleasure of trying the Buckeye Donut from The Vegan Donut Company at Veg Fest, and it was an absolute delight. This decadent chocolate donut, topped with rich chocolate frosting and a dollop of maple, was pure heaven for a chocolate lover like me. The balance was perfect, offering richness without being overly sweet.
However, my experience took a downturn when I rushed to Lakewood the following day, eager for another taste. To my disappointment, not only was the Buckeye Donut unavailable, but I also discovered that their offerings rotate monthly and cannot be ordered unless featured on the menu. Adding to my frustration, there wasn't even a single chocolate donut available this month.
As someone who rarely indulges in donuts, finding one that I truly crave and then not being able to obtain it felt like a cruel twist of fate. The inconsistency in availability turned what could have been a five-star review into a bittersweet four-star experience. I left empty-handed. I hope The Vegan Donut Company reconsiders their approach to availability, as it seems unfair to withhold such deliciousness from...
