Interesting place, the Arc store is fantastic. Find the most interesting things. They fired the security guard, as the position is absolutely useless. He was mainly there to stop fights on half price Saturday but Sonny Liston would have been challenged to do so. Naturally the combatants joined forces finding spontaneous unity against a common enemy. Stopping theft is practically impossible barring small arms fire and remote control landmines in the parking lot. Approximately 30% of everything is stolen. Large wheeled duffel bags are thrown out rather than sold because they routinely were loaded with goods and rolled out the door. The manager is a harridan, out gunned in every way, capitulating in the face of hopeless odds and taking frustration out through misplaced vengeance on the vulnerable. Her position allows her leeway to help the truly needy, instead she takes pleasure in denying the people that desperately need help that she could bless them with. The truly needy stick out in this neighborhood, like the stick thin and sickly woman with the tiny child in too small clothes that asked if she could please have a blanket as it's fiercely cold after sunset. Cruella had a snarling smile as she snatched it from her, denying the request in a manner that frightened the child and made the woman leave crying as she pulled the child away. Seek salvation and pity elsewhere, the manager has absolutely none. The Dollar Tree is nice, can tell when the delivery truck is due by the thinned stock on the shelves. Empty boxes from vanished goods outnumbering the items on the shelves. The laundromat is a good place to have your wallet stolen. Also clothes if one were to step out and allow a dryer to become vulnerable. The thieves are generous as a variety of people are later to be seen wearing them. Stealing things that cannot be used by the thief, but just cannot bear to let the opportunity pass goes a long way in illustrating the character of a common strata of denizen found constantly lurking at Lamar Station Plaza. Employees and owners of the businesses are exposed daily to the mire of lost souls and the unlucky struggling to just get by. Bless those that help deserving and undeserving alike, those jaded by the exposure surely are justified in their actions but the smug self satisfaction plants a malignant seed in their soul that surely spreads it's poison far beyond their...
Read moreActually went shopping at the arc. I really get stuck everytime i go in that store. But let me say this do not try to go while you have a back pack on. They literally wont let you inside the store. Not to mention bringing a medium-sized purse they will ask to look inside your purse before you even begin shopping I really felt like I was targeted just because I was homeless what these people don't realize is that only one year ago I literally went in there and spent $450 on clothing alone so for them to approach me while I'm shopping and telling me to not put things in my shopping cart that I don't think I'll buy was ridiculous the security guard working approached me telling me that management wanted him to come let me know that that could get me kicked out of the store quick I just feel like since the store has reopened they're really judgmental and I believe that that is unfair quit judging a book by its cover people oh and I just wanted to add that my purse that the security guard wanted to look in was a bag you can see right through I just laughed and opened my bag to please the man so I could continue on my shopping trip you guys need to treat people the same whether or not if they have more money in their pocket or not as much it's very simple it's called the Golden Rule would you want to be stopped and talked to that way just because you got evicted from your apartment and now stay in a motel I highly doubt it so be respectful please unless I...
Read moreThis was the first time we had ever been to Casa Bonita. The inside is well-themed. I was impressed at how big and spacious the inside was and at how much there was to look at and to do. The food. From what I had heard about the original menu, this was far superior. But, for my first experience, it was less than average. Our meal came with a free drink, and we opted out of the alcohol. While our server was sharing the drinks available, we chose two that I guess were not included as a free drink. Our server did not tell us that it was an additional expense for them. Otherwise, we would have had the fountain drinks. There was no drink menu for us to see, so informing us would have made a difference. The sopopias, for a basket of 4, are now a dollar instead of being free. I found myself having to ask if the drink refills are free and if I get more chips. Oh, with the chips, mine were stale. The divers were the highlight entertainment. The other areas were fun, too. What was most bothersome about the experience were the prices for the additional items of interest. I liken it to theme park prices. There was some machine, like a Zoltar machine, that was $10 to play. Seriously?! So, will I come back? Maybe. If I do, it will not be for the food, and I will be more discerning about it since I ended up with...
