This used to be one of my absolute favorite breweries for the exceptional beer and friendly staff - But my last experience left a really sour taste in my mouth as customer service seems to be lacking. Everything started out great, but as the night went on, my party as well as one other group were stuck out on the patio since they didn't have any indoor seats left.
The sun had set and everyone outside was getting cold so we went to turn on the outdoor heater placed between us. (There were no signs or warnings posted) Instead of getting a polite response that only staff should be touching the heater, the server sprinted over to us and very rudely scolded us for attempting to turn it on and that they were trying to save money on their propane tank... which costs maybe $10 to fill up at a gas station? They said it wasn't cold enough to turn it on and because we were playing trivia had to suffer through the cold for about another hour.
Anyway, after that there was just a very awkward atmosphere and we could tell the server was giving us glares from a different table. I am pretty sad to share this experience, but want ownership to know so hopefully they can turn things around. Sad to say we won't be frequenting this...
Read moreThe entire package works here. Atmosphere, website, branding, location, and (of course!) the beer. But make no mistake, the real star here is the beer. I've been going here since they opened and each and every time I get a surprise when I try one of the new flavors. Not a "my white cat gets hair on my black pants every single time" surprise but a "wow someone did their job and then some" kind of surprise. Alex Stansbury, the brewmeister, is head and shoulders above all other hop artisans on the west side of town. He is a literal gold-mine. The Peaches Be Crazy, Sour and Tears of Our Enemies Scottish Ale and Dark Intent Porter are so delicious they should be bottled and sold en-masse in Denver. In fact, the names are so inventive they spark a Pavlovian response before you ever taste the beer. As a beer connoisseur.......OK as a beer lover, for all you poorly educated neophytes, you should run not walk to this taproom. And one final note. Put Alex on your website. Have a weekly blog with his thoughts or recommendations or ramblings or whatever. He deserves a front and center line to his beer fans. He is legion! We...
Read moreAfter brewery hopping across the Denver metro area for years, we can report that WestFax Brewing Co is the best of the best. The space is inviting with a minimalistic and tasteful Colorado theme. Interestingly it’s a Buffalo Bills bar, if the “mafia” suits your football taste... Luckily multiple TVs let you watch many sporting events at once, or you can tourist watch across the sidewalk towards the famous Casa Bonita. Most importantly, these guys crush it when it comes to brewing beer across the board, with IPAs in particular being the best in town! Their flagship Western Lumberjack (40 West) is my favorite. Staff always knock it out of the park! Come and see Hans, for knowledgeable recommendations, good humor, and great hospitality! Locals should join the mug club to get your name or most clever phrase engraved on a glass, and everyone should stop in to enjoy the best CO...
