STEM Handmade Soap — Local services in Lakewood

If you've ever been to LUSH you can use that as a basic comparison, but honestly there is no comparison. As a guy who only buys lotion and soap every so often (since my fiance takes care of most of those decisions, which is perfectly fine), I am very picky when I buy something without her influence. Some places, especially LUSH, really only try to appeal to a more feminine style and so I have a harder time finding anything I like. Can you tell I don't like LUSH? STEM has quality hand-made products for a reasonable price. That's good enough for 3-4 stars on its own. However the variety of scents along with the sensible presentation really make STEM a winner for me. Plenty of amazing aromas, and enough variety to appeal to everyone. Probably close to half their stuff I wanted to buy for myself. They also carry lavender-lemon which is hard to find (although seems to be getting a bit easier) which is what I am always on the lookout for as that combo is my Mom's favorite. I bought a lotion with the Cabin scent after trying it in the store, it's non-greasy and after one use my hands are softer and smell wonderful! Can't wait to go back, they also offer soap-making classes which is something that my fiance will probably take...

Love, love, love STEM. Their products smell absolutely amazing, and the soap leaves your skin sooo soft. Anyone I’ve ever gifted STEM products to, has become an instant “fan.” They make special limited-edition scents every month, and I love stopping in just to see what they have available. My personal favorites are the peppermint bar soap, and “tie-dye” limited edition bar or pump soap. I have been in the Lakewood store numerous times, and have only had the BEST customer service. They also provide gift bags and tissue for your purchase at no additional cost. I’ve seen a few reviews comment on stem products being pricey..if you understand all of the work and TLC that goes into making their products, you will understand that it’s one of the best values around. I have spent so much money at this place. I used to buy a lot of body butter. Enough that I've had 8 containers at a time. So when one of the butters I opened was body butter foam. I sent an email to the owner, and he blamed me for letting the butter get warm and that the lot number was not even in existence anymore. I had it in my bedroom and it was not because of heat. THEN I go to Shaker Heights location and was supposed to get my $10 off. The clerk said oh it took it off. You'll see you received it in your bank statement. I did not. I have literally spent a ton of money there. Horrible customer service. Especially from the owner. I'm done. Will not spend another...
