First of all let me take a deep breath because i cannot explain how angry, disappointed, and disgusted I am with my overall experience with lacks. I wanted to give ZERO stars but couldn’t. So i went to lacks looking for new mattresses. I was shown several different models on the showroom floor. Now mattress purchases are big thus my wife and I decided to think about it overnight given we were purchasing 4 of them. When we decided to go through with the purchase, I expected to pay the price on the mattress. Turns out the mattress was mislabeled and was more expensive. Dealt with that and accepted the “other” price. Ended up getting a decent deal on the overall purchase. Then I wanted a bed frame without wheels. The sales rep showed me a picture on the showroom floor. Great I said, that’s what I want. I also specifically asked if the delivery personnel could assist with taking the old mattresses to the garage given that king size mattresses are very heavy and I was likely going to be working. The sales person said that it shouldn’t be a problem. Next, the delivery. The king mattress was taken upstairs and my wife noted that it appeared to have a large lump down the middle. Did not look right. The delivery guys said that the other mattress in the warehouse looked the same. When she called and spoke to someone, she specifically stated that they “have another defective mattress in the warehouse.” Seriously? Why would you sell me an item that costs thousands of dollars knowing that it’s defective? Sent it back. Waiting for delivery of next king mattress. They didn’t have all of my items in stock so two of the four mattresses were delivered and they were fine. They delivered the frame today and it has wheels. I specifically ordered one without wheels. The “manager,” when called, stated that they “don’t sell frames without wheels.” Why would the sales rep sell me something that you don’t have? Called lacks and confirmed that my order says frame without wheels. I’m still waiting for completion of my order but can honestly say that I will likely not make any other purchases from lacks. I will definitely place another review here at a later date. Now what exactly are they doing at lacks? Read moreI purchased a couch and love seat along with warranty service. The warranty was sold by the sales person and finance person as an item that covers all things minus intentional damage. (Be very careful) When it was time to use the warranty I called the Lacks just to find out I have to call an outsourced number for the warranty. I called the number for the warranty to find that the warranty product was never submitted from Lacks. They had no information on me or my purchase. The warranty company still took the information for my claim but said I needed to talk to the Lacks store about a receipt of purchase. The warranty company also told me my claim will not be covered because the product damage happened during a move. Also, they gave me a long list of items that won’t be covered. (Not the same thing that was described to me at point of sale from the sales rep and finance rep) I went to the Lacks store to discuss the matter with someone and they told me a manager will get back to me about the issue. I continued to call (no answer)/go by the location to see if anything will be done. But, I continued to be told I have to wait for a managers response. This went on for more than 1 1/2 months! I decided to call the corporate office and the response was just as bad! Finally by me calling again to the corporate office I finally got a response. They gave 2 options: they can refund a prorated amount of the warranty $200; or, they could split the cost for minor repair (couched needed to be replaced is what I was told by the man that took pictures). The couches will cost more to repair than the 2 options given. But, live and learn I guess. I definitely learned I will not purchase from Lacks anymore and neither will any of my family members. Read moreOk. Lacks is overpriced but we all know that. I had the cash and they convinced me that no interest credit would be better. They didn't tell me that if I pay on the due date, it takes 3 days to process so....late payment and they tack on 21% interest. That's an extra 1000. I bought an insurance but now that I need it, they have me waiting for over 19 days and they tell me that their insurance service people don't do service in Laredo. Now I have to wait again until they find someone local to do it. My first claim was on March it is now late April. I will never buy anything from them again and I suggest that neither should you. Once they get your money, they don't care about you. Why do you think that place is so big? Scam the poor and middle class.
Update, it is now July 4th and still no replacement part and once I get the part, no timeline on how long it will take for them to find a repair person to fix it. REALLY? I FIXED IT MYSELF! THANKS FOR NOTHING LACKS. SCAAAAAMMM!
Update..it is now August and I got fed up and called. After some complaining they looked it up and surprise..the claim for the part was filed TODAY. What a coincidence. So no timeline on part, no timeline on repair guy from San Antonio. No apology, just lies? Wow. I can't rate lacks any lower or I would. I suggested a solution...don't sell stuff with insurance if there is no one who can fix it within a hundred miles. But once they get your money, they wash their hands of you. Seven months from first claim, no repairs in sight. Does everyone have to be a rip off now days? Zero stars for Lacks. UPDATE: 2 YEARS LATER, REPAIR GUY NEVER CAME.
