My daughter plays in an annual basketball tournament that just started using this facility for many of their games about three years ago. The tournament usually rents out high school gyms for the weekend, but the LV Basketball Center has five courts, so it makes scheduling games a lot easier.
Note: if you are being charged to attend a tournament there, it's the tournament organization who is charging you, not the LV Basketball Center, so complain to the tournament organization. The tournament my daughter plays in doesn't charge spectators, we just walk in and watch as many games as we want.
Some of the cons: If you are attending a large tournament, parking is going to be hard to find. Handicapped spots are far from the entrance. You can park across the street at the post office, but only when the post office is closed. If you park there when it's open, you risk having your car ticketed or towed. I parked across Tenaya Way at an outdoor park for a nearby hospital and it seemed OK, there was no one around picnicking or BBQing in the 109 degree heat.
Because all five of the courts are right next to each other, there is no seating along the side of the courts, all seating is on aluminum bleachers behind the baskets. And if you get there after the games have started, you're going to have to sit on the "near" side of the court because you're going to have to wait until either half time or when there are no games in progress to cross to the other end.
Restrooms are a bit small considering how many people the gym holds. Should have more room with benches in case players need to...

Her leg was hurt badly from the fall. I don't want to give a very bad rating, because the facility is typically great. Upon trying to let people know, who runs the facility, no one bothered to ask if she was okay, check on her, but told her there was no form to report an incident. The woman behind the concession stand gave a piece of yellow paper to "write a statement" and walked completely away. The person she had called to mention the accident to and who told her to have the lady write a statement, did not bother to come see if she was alright, either. From this experience, I believe that by not having anything in place for accidents of this nature that they rely on the victims not fulfilling actually writing a statement which was exactly what happened. The husband walked up and stopped her from writing the statement. From other people standing around during this incident, several mentioned someone else falling from off the same weak, bending floor board. I sincerely doubt it will get fixed if they didn't give a crap about someone who fell due to their negligence to keep flooring safe by fixing it, and the lady could hardly step on her leg from it the fall. A piece of wood flooring wont set you back but a couple of bucks. Is it worth your integrity? *I have video with someone stepping onto this flooring to show how bad...
Read moreAre you looking for a place that will price gouge you without a smile? Well if you haven't been to the Las Vegas Basketball Center then you are in for a treat! Youth sports are amazing for a number of reasons... but this place and places like this (Tarkanian Basketball Center) have identified suckers (me & you) that will pay an inordinate amount of money for our kids to get burnt out on a sport before they reach high school. Us, stupid parents, that want to live our talentless lives vicariously through our children will pay for club sports, private trainers, gym time. We pay literally thousands of dollars for travel, league fees and everything else mentioned. Then we enter a tournament (for which we pay) just to have the pleasure of showing up to said tournament to pay $50 or more to watch poorly refereed games in a dirty warehouse with crappy parking, filthy bathrooms and the potential of getting shot while walking to your car (if it hasn't already been towed or ticketed).
This place sucks. I hate it. But then again - I'll show up 4-5 times a year for whatever crappy tournament my son is playing in. You would just hope they could have more bleachers, better viewing areas and cleaner restrooms. I suppose if they did that - then price of admission would be...
