My old pillow top Sealy was causing a lot of pain in my sacral area. I was using multiple pillows as I slept to relieve the pressure point on my tail. I sleep mostly on my back but doesn't every human want to turn on their side every now and again. Sleeping on my side always resulted in neck and shoulder pain.
We looked at conventional mattresses because my husband is cheap but were looking at spending $2,000+ on mattresses that had chemicals and springs and who knows what else in them. And then there is the corporate aspect of the conventional mattress.....made by who knows who....who knows where.
I turned to my locally owned furniture store, The Eagles Rest. Diane and all of her awesome employees walked me through the process and were super patient while I gently persuaded my cheap husband to get one of these mattresses. LOL! I love love love my new bed.
You pay a little more but the added valued is enormous. Its organic and made in our country. And that is worth every penny.
We got a king size Dunlop, medium bottom and soft in the middle and top. We got the thick wool mattress topper, which is so soft and comfy. And also the wool mattress protector. Oh, and two king sized shredded latex pillow which I love love love.
I'm also a local artist and they are so great about letting me hang my painting in the shop. So they also support local artists which is super cool!
I really do love this business and the people in it. Go...
Read moreEagles' Rest is the best. About a year ago my partner Katie and I bought two organic pillows (shredded talalay) from Diane. We've been totally satisfied. Four months ago we went and bought another pillow and additional casings (the pillows are so stuffed we took three pillows and made four). Last month we went big and bought a king size Savvy Rest bed (Medium-Soft-Soft all talalay both sides), a Savvy Rest pillow top, a woolsie top, a set of Coyuchi organic cotton jersey sheets, and I think that's it...Wow! What a great bed. Not only do we feel good knowing our bed and bedding is free of toxins, but the bed is a total dream to sleep on. So comfortable! It's silent (no springs) and just the perfect amount of softness where the bed hugs us (in a good way) while we snooze. The hardest part it getting out of it. Diane was totally helpful through the whole process. We're so satisfied. We plan on buying more furniture here in the future. We made the platform bed frame ourselves which was not too painful and turned out pretty well. Five stars and beyond for Eagles' Rest, Katie and I are so glad we have this store...
Read moreEagles Rest is a wonderful store! I like it so much that I have gotten two Savvy Rest mattresses here, in addition to a bed frame, pillows, sheets, mattress pads, and wool toppers. Oh, and a dog bed that my dog loves. And two sofas that my cats love (and so do we)!
Diane, Kathleen, and Ashley are always helpful and patient. When I began looking at healthy mattresses, I knew practically nothing about them. I got a great education and never felt any pressure whatsoever to make a purchase. I was able to try out many different configurations so that I could narrow down the options before bringing in my shopping-phobic husband.
I had one very minor problem with a bed-related purchase, and I didn't really care about fixing it, but Diane insisted on making things perfect for us. We had a more major problem with a sofa, and not only did Diane send it back and make sure we got a new one, but she let us borrow a sofa in the interim.
Our Savvy Rest mattresses have helped me a lot...I no longer wake up with back or hip pain, ever. And it was no-pain...
