I would not recommend Avanti Nail Spa, as it is not sanitary. I went for an eyebrow wax, and was taken into a treatment room where the employee was lounging on the treatment table, with her shoes on the cotton blanket covering the table, eating food. When the man who took me to the treatment room left, I asked if she could please put a clean blanket or cover on the table before I laid on it, and she refused. I also noticed that there was tin foil covering the items on the wax bowls, which made me concerned that the same wax is used for each customer. To top it off, I was the only patron in the spa at the time, and observed that there was a group of employees just playing cards and eating in the center of the spa. There was an overall uncleanliness to the treatment room and the rest of the spa itself. I stated that I unfortunately would have to go somewhere else, and the woman who was supposed to do my wax just shrugged and talked about me to another woman (I could not understand what was said, but it was obvious they were talking about me) and the man who took me to the treatment room also just shrugged me off on my way out. It was an unnecessarily unpleasant experience.
In response to the owner's response below, please do not gaslight me. I, myself, am a minority who works in customer service. I know how customers are supposed to be treated, and standards of cleanliness. During this holiday season, I planned to use my hard-earned money to treat myself to an eyebrow wax - which is something I cannot afford to do often. I was shocked at the uncleanliness and of the way I was treated. I was nothing but kind to you and your staff and they were rude to me. I am sharing my honest observations, yet you are trying to spin it that you guys are meager hard working holiday workers. No, I am the one who is a meager holiday worker and you were rude to me and your place is not clean! No matter how you try to twist my words, the truth stands. I wish I would have videotaped my observations and interactions with your staff since your PR team is trying to spin what happened. How incredibly dishonest! I hope you take your own advice and be kind to ALL customers this holiday season, treat ALL with the courtesy of a clean treatment area without them having to beg for one, and do not rudely talk about minority customers (even us black and brown ones) in another language! Please be kind to all and do not assume that some customers are used to substandard treatment and that you can treat some customers badly and get away with it. I hope no one else, regardless of their race/ethnicity/identity/class, is subject to the unnecessarily unpleasant experience...
Read moreUpdate: I received a phone call from either the manager or owner and she apologized over and over. She said she knows I’ve been coming here for a while and if I come back in she will have one of the really good workers redo my pedicure. I didn’t bother to come back to redo it, but did give them another try when I was due for another one. I came back almost a month later and she recognized me without me even mentioning anything and thanked me for giving them another chance. This time they did an amazing job. They even discounted the service due to the bad pedicure last time. I appreciate that sort of customer service and they have gained a faithful customer due to fixing the issue and even just remembering me! Such a small thing goes a long way. Thank you Avanti nails!
Prior review: I’ve been going here for a while and they always do an amazing job. They have a wonderful variety of polish and dip colors - the most I’ve ever seen. Today, however, I had a bad experience. I usually do the deluxe pedicure which includes a hot stone message. The girl who did my pedicure rushed. She barely scrubbed the bottom of my feet, she put the hot towels on my legs and only left them there a short time before removing them when normally the ladies leave them a few minutes. And then she started to put the gel polish on. Some ladies do the hot stones after the polish so I didn’t say anything. But she finished the polish and never did the hot stones nor the extra thick lotion that the ladies normally do. I thought maybe she had misunderstood and did a regular pedicure so I brought it up when I was paying. The lady checking me out went and asked the pedicure lady who came over and said she did do the stones. I said no you didn’t. She said she did it before the polish which SHE DID NOT. I am not ok with this. I know for a fact this was not done because it’s my favorite part. I spend a lot of money here and it’s fine if something is forgotten but don’t charge me for a service not rendered. I am so sad because the lady who did my fingers did a great job, which is the only reason for 2 stars. I think I may need to think twice before...
Read morePrior to today I have recommended Avanti to all of my friends and family. However, after today I will never do that again! My daughter and I have been customers since February 2019. We book our appointments every 3 weeks. After our most recent visit my daughter had one nail that broke twice which she went in to have it repaired. Yesterday was her scheduled appointment. Another nail broke while she was getting dressed. She does not lift boxes, dip her hands in water or anything that would cause nail breakage so the broken bails alarmed us. We attributed it defective SNS powder.
My daughter went in to the salon understandably frustrated. She spoke with the manager Kasey who proceeded to accuse her of causing her nails to break and stating that Ken the nail tech has never had this issue before. My daughter attempted to explain that she was not accusing Ken, but thought it was a defective product. Kasey continued to personally attack my daughter as other nail techs joined in speaking in their language, walking by and pointing at her nails.
Today was my appointment. I asked to speak to Kasey. She spoke quietly to me. I was not quiet. She apologized to me (not my daughter), but still accused my daughter of causing her nails to break. Again, I told her she did nothing to cause this. I explained that at one time one of my nails cracked. I came back and the owner apologized and said that there are times when they receive defective products. Kasey then said that Ken nor anyone other nail tech wanted to service my daughter in the future because she had 3 broken nails. I then walked out. I will not allow them to service me anymore if they can’t service my daughter. We were faithful customers. We tip well and never complain. Kasey has ruined it for us....
