I really hate that I have to even give one star to write a review. Here's a stark warning for anyone thinking of ordering food from here: Prepare to receive abysmal service and even more terrible food. We placed a to go order over the phone requesting two QUESADILLAS. The person taking the order misheard QUESABIRRIAS. We corrected this person, reiterating that we wanted two QUESADILLAS. Person ended the call abruptly, never confirming the correction. When we got there, we checked the food and saw two abominations known as quesabirrias. We let staff know that we ordered two quesadillas. They took the wrong order back and made us wait over 20 minutes only for them to return the same incorrect order with two quesabirrias. We requested the correct order a 3rd time but staff pretty much just shoo'ed us away. The quesabirrias were disgusting, inedible items made up of overly fried, greasy tortillas stuffed with more chunks of onion than actual meat. The smell of onion was so strong it permeated the styrofoam boxes and clung stubbornly onto our clothes during car ride. In addition to this blatant show of disrespect, they gave us some of the wateriest excuses of salsas I've ever been unfortunate to encounter. The consome was also watery and heavily laden with sloppily chopped chunks of onion, no meat. There was more onion in this order than in a bag of Funnions. I've repeatedly had negative experiences at this place. I've had everything from cashiers getting angry with me for choosing to order in English to my food being completely inedible either from an oversaturation of grease or massive chunks of uncut onion. We hadn't been here in over a year and it's now clear in our memories as to why. I doubt they'll do anything to remedy their deplorable food and service. This is more of a warning to unsuspecting customers. You're better off going elsewhere, anywhere just not here! This has to be one of the worst Mexican places in Gwinnett if not in all of North Georgia. Terrible service, inedible food, watery, tasteless slop passed off as salsa. I'm certainly never returning even if it was the last place open in all of Gwinnett. Take your chances if you want, but don't say someone didn't warn you! Steer clear of this place!!! Your dignity, GI tract and wallet...
Read moreI’ve officially eaten food from here twice. I first tried this spot earlier this year when my sister picked up a to-go order for me. I got the quesa birria tacos. I thought it was just okay. The consommé could have used a bit more flavor. I tried the tortilla chips and guacamole also. Chips were nice and crunchy, and I don’t really like guacamole anymore, but this one was good.
Today was my first in-person visit. It’s located in the Liam Avenue plaza, that strip of restaurants/stores located behind Waffle House and El Jinete. The place is half restaurant and half market. I didn’t go to the market side though. I called ahead to order, so my food was ready as soon as I got there. I got 3 carne asada tacos ($3.50 each) and a small horchata ($2.25). It came with the standard raw onions, cilantro, lime, and red and green salsa.
I also wanted some cooked onions and peppers since I saw several photos on Google reviews of the sautéed onions and peppers on the side. When I asked for it, the lady said it only comes with the raw onion on it and that they had no peppers. Which I already knew…but I don’t think she understood that I wanted it as an additional side, and she kinda brushed me off so that was disappointing. So I just left and took my to-go food home. The tacos were still nice and warm with a good flavor. Horchata was delish. I will be back. This is the only taqueria in Dacula, so it’s literally the best you can get...
Read moreYOU MUST TRY!! ITS DELICIOUS
The number of times I’ve came here is crazy! I’ve lost count! The nachos are my FAVORITE! The chips are crispy and EVERYTHING on top is perfect! The guy at the front already knows me and my boyfriend. And everyone is so nice! Another personal favorite is the queso birria tacos!(I don’t have a picture) It’s perfect! And the burrito is also SO DELICIOUS. Those three are my go-to! There are also plates on the menu now if that’s your style too.
So let’s break it down: The nachos are crisp, the meat barely has fat (if any), served hot, the guacamole and sour cream on top is the perfect amount and gives it great taste! Every ingredient tastes great:) Also a really good size, you won’t leave hungry for sure. Depending on how hungry I am, I sometimes share just the nachos with my boyfriend.
The queso Birria tacos are really juicy and they have good salsa verde if you like a little spicy. Depending on what your craving, this is just a taco with cheese and consume for dipping. But I personally love cheese so these tacos really go crazy for me.
The burrito has a really good ratio of meat and beans and everything. It also has guacamole inside which most places don’t have. The carne asada also barely has any fat. The burrito is really filling for times you’re really hungry.
So 5 stars on food, service, and cleanliness! And I got lucky that I...
