Save your time and money and go to Waffle House! I wish I could say that this place was worth your money. We chose to go here for my birthday breakfast because Dacula doesn’t have a breakfast spot that will accommodate a large family. Unfortunately, the Dacula Diner did not live up to the “Diner” part of their name. Yes, they have a wide range of dishes available and most are American classics, but that is where it stops living up to its name. Most of my family ordered the breakfast combo with either the waffle or pancakes. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes and instead was given a bowl of chocolate chips to put on my pancake and informed after my food was brought to me that there were no substitutions allowed and the chocolate chips would not be put inside the pancake. The hashbrowns were so severely undercooked that no one in my party ate them, the chicken biscuit looked and tasted like one you would get from a school cafeteria, and the sausage links were sliced in half and then cooked, so they were dry and burned. Even the grits (a southern classic) were served with no butter. You could literally use it to spackle your wall.

If you thought the food was the only grievance, you would be wrong. We arrived at 10 and promptly waited over an hour for this, I can’t even call it mediocre, food. This was with 3 kids under 5 mind you. When we asked the waitress to expedite our food it was still 25 minutes before we received it, all while watching other tables come, order, and go in the time we were sitting there. And the icing on the cake, when we asked to speak with the manager after our meal, she had the audacity to take our money, make no eye contact, and walk away in the middle of us addressing her like we were no more than gum on her shoe. It is safe to say my family will NEVER be back and will not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go to The Diner at Sugar Hill or even Waffle House. You’ll certainly spend way less money and walk out...

Huge disappointment! We have been anticipating its opening as we need new restaurants in Dacula. We walked in and were greeted by the female owner who was dressed in holey jeans. She wasn’t friendly or welcoming. Didn’t even greet us with a smile. Sat us at a booth, which was very uncomfortable as the seat was too puffy and leaned in toward the table. We looked over the menu. It was vast, which made it hard to see what they specialized in. Most of the items didn’t make us think of a Southern diner. No fried okra? That alone should be illegal! There were lots of pasta dishes, burgers and sandwiches, and breakfast items served all day. My husband opted for the chicken fried chicken with cream of mushroom soup and I got the buffalo chicken with fries. The soup came out and my husband said it was cold and tasteless…like wallpaper paste. His chicken fried chicken looked like premade patties from a bag that had been deep fired. My husband was very disappointed. My wrap was mediocre…nothing special. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. The male owner was dressed in a dingy shirt that looked like he grabbed it from the laundry hamper. It was very wrinkled and looked unprofessional. We opted to try a slice of carrot cake. It cost $11 and was cold and dry. We didn’t eat but a few bites. The prices were not budget friendly. Only a few other people ate there while we were there…and it was Friday night around 5:30 PM. Come for the desert...not dinner. After ordering, waited about 30 minutes to get our salad. The meals came out immediately after. My wife’s chicken cordon blu was decent but my son and I ordered the meatloaf. Both entrees came out and the meatloaf was lukewarm and not very good. The broccoli and mashed potatoes were cold…literally cold as if they came out of the refrigerator but slightly warm in the middle indicating they may have been microwaved-just my assumption. The owner brought us out 2 new sides of hot mashed potatoes about 10 minutes later. Overall a real downer. The owner offered us a complimentary desert which I thought was real nice and my son really wanted the carrot cake. Upon leaving, the owner handed us a to go box and said, “I hope you like cheesecake,” as luck would have it, that’s the one desert my son can’t eat. I asked the owner if it was possible to get carrot cake instead and the owner shrugged and said, “I already cut it.” Ok. So that was a no. I guess spending $32 on 2 poor meals doesn’t justify a $7 desert if your choice. However, despite my son not being able to try the chocolate cheesecake, I did and it was very very good. I recommend coming here for desert... maybe breakfast as their breakfast menu looks good but...

First time visiting. Service and atmosphere were very nice. Friendly staff w/ good customer service. The food was also very good. Large portions and great taste (pork chop dinner w/ mash potatoes and green beans, triple decker turkey sandwich w/ fries, slaw and pickle). The sandwich was a beast! Dessert was also good - large portions and great taste (coconut cake and key lime pie). The prices were extremely reasonable and directly inline with other area restaurants. Highly recommended!! After several visits - still excellent service, food and atmosphere.
