Gross smelly and extremely disappointing! The room I had was quite smelly and really dreary and depressing. Room 139. I would have asked to change rooms, but while walking down the hallways to get to my room, which was at the very end, I could actually smell some of the other rooms which were even worse than mine. Even the hallways smelled musty and old and like cigarette smoke and BO.. I was on the first floor at the end of the hall by an exit door by the stairway to the other floors. This was a terrible location. There was a family staying in the room above me with three children that were running up and down the stairs and in and out the door and stomping on the floor so much I thought I was gonna go insane. Again, I would’ve changed my room, but I was afraid I might get something worse than what I already had. The windows to the first floor rooms looked very unsafe like somebody could’ve just popped out the window and broken in without me even hearing much. The air conditioner was an old window air conditioner that was so dirty and gross and I think it was part of the bad smell. I wanted this to be a nice little getaway to treat myself with some much-needed time alone and instead I was completely depressed and annoyed and disgusted . This is one of the worst hiltons I have ever stayed at. I’ve had cheap motels that have been better than this. I tried to take pictures, but it didn’t capture what I’m trying to describe. This place needs to be renovated in every way. If you do end up staying here, make sure you don’t stay on the first floor as the noise is insane. Partially this is my fault because I didn’t read the reviews before I stayed here. I wish I had. Most of them talk about the smell. Also, the floors were so dirty that my bare feet were almost black from walking to and from the bathroom a few times without socks. Please do yourself a favor and do...
Read moreWe checked in and dropped off our bags before heading to dinner. Right away, I noticed the carpets throughout the hotel were filthy, and the rooms looked very dated. There was no wall thermostat—only a wall HVAC unit with unclear controls—so it was impossible to get the room to a comfortable temperature.
When we returned after dinner, we found the swing door latch had engaged when we first dropped off our bags, leaving us locked out of our room. The front desk attendant tried to help but couldn’t get it open, and eventually I managed to get it unlatched myself.
The beds were extremely hard, and I ended up tossing and turning all night, getting very little sleep. The bathroom wasn’t any better: the tub faucet had only a trickle of water, and switching to the showerhead reduced it even further. The only way to get a light spray was by setting the showerhead to “mist,” which made rinsing nearly impossible and turned a quick shower into a frustrating, drawn-out task.
Breakfast the next morning was equally disappointing. All of the hot trays—eggs, potatoes, and bacon—were empty when I arrived. The kitchen staff told me more food was in the oven, but it took 45 minutes before she brought out some of the thinnest, greasiest bacon I’ve ever seen. The eggs and potatoes didn’t come out until another 15 minutes later. The eggs were watery, though the potatoes were decent. I couldn’t eat the bacon at all.
Overall, this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Hampton Inn. Between the dated and dirty facilities, poor room comfort, lack of maintenance, and disappointing breakfast, I cannot recommend this location. It desperately needs major renovation and improved...
Read moreThe pool and deck area were about the only good thing about this hotel. The elevator is broken. If you are elderly or special needs, I would not recommend this hotel. My wife got stuck in the elevator for over an hour. The girl at the front desk had no clue how to handle the situation. My wife was stuck in there for 30 minutes before anyone responded to her distress call. She pushed the alarm and you could not hear the alarm outside the elevator. By the time I was notified that my wife was stuck in the elevator(by my 12 year old son who over heard the front desk girl talking on the phone with the hotel manager about it), she had been in there for 45 minutes. When the fire fighter came to help get her out, he told us that this is a common occurrence at this particular hotel, because there is a faulty switch that always gets stuck. So apparently it's been a problem for some time. After they got my wife out of the elevator, around 10:00 at night, they shut down the elevator for the night. The next morning, the elevator was open for use again, but was never fixed. You could tell just by being on the elevator, that it had issues. I got the hotel managers email adress and emailed her about my concerns, never heard back. My family rented 3 rooms for 2 nights and they did very little to make my wife's traumatic experience right. I've use hampton inn before and had great experiences, but I will never use this location, nor recommend...
