Modern Affinity - Wedding Dress Boutique — Local services in League City

I had a horrible experience at Modern Affinity today, and I would not suggest visiting this store.

You’ll see most of the reviews for the store mention how wonderful Sarra is. She is the reason I came. My friend who bought her dress from Modern Affinity raved about Sarra (not the shop as you’ll noticed): “I loooooooved my bridal shop. It’s a smaller shop but totally worth the drive! They were in like Webster area…….. Sarra at Modern Affinity was amazing!!!! I ended up getting that dress with Sarra at Modern Affinity. She specifically ordered it for me. So accommodating and absolutely the sweetest person!!!!!

Bad news (which I didn’t know before I went down there)…Sarra is no longer working there!!

When we arrived today, my party (my mom, 3 friends, and I) were not greeted until we had been there for about 5 minutes. Then I was told I did not have an appointment. I asked about Sarra at which point I was told she was no longer working there.

The saleslady told me she wouldn’t be able to me because she was the only one at the store and she had another customer. I told her we had driven 45 minutes from Houston because we had made an appointment. After a few minutes, she called the owner who she said lived in north Houston and wasn’t willing to come down to help but she would work with the other customer and me.

She briefly gave us a tour of the store, handed us some pins, and disappeared into the other room with the other customer. That was the last we saw of her until we left the store an hour or so later after trying on a few dresses. She ran out the store after me to see if there was anything that we wanted. No, not really. Maybe better customer service? You might want to think about bringing back Sarra!

The plot thickens…when I got home this evening, I had an email from the store cancelling an appointment scheduled on my wedding date next January. It wasn’t even addressed to me, but to some gal named Cameryn. Hope they didn’t mess up her appointment too!

This is hands down the best dress store and best customer service experience I have ever had. First, they made my first try on so intimate and special. I ordered a dress I thought I loved. All the measurements they did and suggestions they gave me were spot on for sizing. The first dress I ordered was a mermaid dress. I had already lost weight and new I could get down to a good number by the time if the wedding. So long story short I found out I may have a disease that would make me gain weight if I started this medication. I was heartbroken. I explained this to the team and they were so understanding. I went back in and they gave me all the options they could possibly do. Somehow they managed to get me to exchange it for a different dress but same designer.. basically the same dress but an a line. Luckily I hadn’t done alterations yet. Let me tell you this. Absolutely no store has ever been so accommodating and sweet through this entire process. My wedding dress shopping has been the most positive experience I could have ever imagined. Most places would have made me buy a new dress and been like sorry too bad so sad. These people really really care about your wedding day. When you go in to try on the dress of your dreams just know you will be in the BEST hands!!! Wedding dress shopping has been the least stressful part of my wedding planning. Thank y’all so much for helping me through this difficult situation and make sure I feel comfortable...

After 6 dress appointments at various shops my daughter called Modern Affinity in desperation at 3:30pm on a Saturday to see if they took walk in appointments. They said we could fit us in and by the time we got there, less than 15 minutes later, they has her suite all set up and ready to go. They listened to the both of us (her: style, me: style & budget) and helped us find her dream dress! She had tried on a dress she liked, they brought over their iPad for me to take a look at the other styles from that designer and collection, I chose one and they had it in a larger size. After some clamping and pinning we were sold. They even offered a few different options on ordering the dress which will save $$$ on alterations. We found a dress, it was well within our budget and I now get to tell my daughter that her mother picked out her dress she loved (that alone is worth it's weight in gold). Despite it being later in the afternoon they took their time to help my daughter find the dress she wanted, never making us feel rushed or doing a hard sell. We are 7 months out from the wedding and other shops made us feel that if we didn't order the dress right then and there it wouldn't arrive in time for the wedding.
