The last time my wife and ate here, was about 6 years ago. We had our kids with us at the time. It was a good experience then, but difficult to enjoy with our kids. This time, we met up with my wife's cousins, and kids were at home. First thing, the food was very good, and I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. The service was perfect! Our waiter was super helpful in finding a beer I liked to drink. I don't drink mainstream beers. I generally stick to specialty and craft beers. I did get a sampler of 4 different ones to taste, and the waiter was very good at picking which ones for me to try. Of the 4 that I tried, the Hofbrau Lager. It was the lighter in color of the 4 and the least bitter. They do have a large selection of different beers, that I hope to try more of next time. We did try the Exotic sausage sampler. The rabbit and rattle snake was best one, with a little sweet and spice to it. The Wild Boar being kinda sweet and the Mountain Man just very meaty. All three were good. For the main dish, I chose the Hungarian Stew. It was very delicious! The menu says spicy, but it's not too much. There's other options, such as Oma's Meatloaf that I'd love to try next time. Oddly enough, there are some not so German items listed on the menu. I understand trying to offer a more diverse selection, but Tex-Mex and Cajun just really don't make much sense to me, on a German themed establishment. Also they appear o offer several souvenir cups or mugs and other drinking containers. There's a "Growler" bottle, a big glass Boot, some big mugs with logos on them, and I'm pretty sure the big tankards at the front entrance are also for sale. Each one of these can be filled and refilled with whatever beer or beverage of your choice, for not a bad price. I definitely want to come back for that. The waiter even informed me I could bring a "mug" or so on, of my own to refill! I'm not so sure about how accurate that is but it is very interesting. Anyway, it was a really good experience, overall! Hopefully we'll return soon. Patrons can also sign up for an email list and SMS notifications to recieve regular special deals and event notices.

Updated review 3.18.22 Today, Elvis was our waiter and again was fantastic! We really look forward to stopping here while we are in the area as we travel to Galveston for our cruise. Definitely worth getting off I- 45 for a while, have a beer and some great food!!! Holly was our server and was fantastic!! We are not from this area and wanted some good German food... well, we found it! We started with a pretzel that was crisp on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside. Paired with spicy mustard and a side of beer cheese with bacon was our first clue that the rest of the meal was going to be good! The pork schnitzel, while not traditional veal, was tender and cooked perfectly. The Austrian potato salad was served chilled and in case you have never had german/Austrian potato salad, it has a vinegar base, but was not overpowering. I am not a fan of saurkraut, so I subbed a side salad that came with a red wine vinegar. My husband had the jagerschnitzel (mushroom gravy) and spatzel. The spatzel were perfect little pillows of yumminess. We finished with a cream cheese strudel and a apple strudel serves with a small cup of cinnamon whipped cream that was scumptous. Nice large building with a large covered patio. Huge bar serving German beers as well as many different cocktails. We look forward to coming back here for more fantastic German food!!!

All the components are there for this to be our new favorite place, but for us the execution was a "miss." For the time being, we will file King's BierHaus under "great place for beer, appetizers and watching the game." I'm hoping we can upgrade them to "best evah" once they work out the kinks. We went last Sunday and the atmosphere was perfect. The patio was well designed, comfortable and spacious, while the inside was everything I imagine a German dining hall would be. The staff was friendly and generally helpful, though a bit inattentive (maybe a game was on or socializing amongst themselves.) It wasn't horrible, just not "great." The beer was tall and cold and they had a decent selection. The appetizers were very good (according to our party of 8,) though I would have LOVED if they had at least one marked Vegan. Our meal was "meh" and generally felt like it might have been cooked earlier as some of the dishes arrived somewhat tepid. I'll admit this might have been because of our 3p dining time, but I would have waited longer for "fresher" main courses. (This is just how it seemed, for all I know they were fresh, but just weren't served in a timely manner.) Now a bit of a personal gripe for me. I'm Vegan for health reasons. Not super fun, but I get by. When I find a place that shows Vegan choices on their menu, I'm super excited. And I was very excited to try King's BierHaus. Unfortunately I found out at least one item they had marked as Vegan was made with chicken stock. (I'm paranoid and ask about everything.) That made me really wonder about the ingredients and preparation of the other "vegan" dishes (including some I'd already eaten.) My trust in the menu just took a nose dive. Overall we had a decent time (the beer and company helped,) though it could have been much more.

We went for our cousins birthday party and the broccoli was sour it tasted bad on everyone's plate not just ours! Our server took the broccoli off of the plates! She did not take the plate which had the nasty juice from the broccoli all over the rest of the food on the plate, she only removed the nasty broccoli from the plate, left us with the rest of the food and took the sour broccoli to the kitchen and that way it! No one came over to address the problem at all, nor did anyone attempt to adjust anything at all. We had to ask our server if management made any adjustments to our bill and the answer was, Nope! 👎 🤣 We had to ask the server (not management because no manager came over at all to address anything!) to please adjust the bill from the bad broccoli that wasn't edible, she then took our bill to another worker, not management, and deducted $3.00 from our ticket 🤣😂😅 Yep! Happy Birthday 🎂 🤣 No Manager or anyone from this establishment has ever attempted to address this situation at all.

Seemed like a neat place with a good German ambiance. I don't like beer, but they had plenty of cocktail options for me to enjoy. The king's whiskey was really good. We got a pretzel which came out slightly burnt, so not great. The bacon Bier cheese dip was good. I wish there was a non bacon version though for vegetarians to dip. Speaking of vegetarians they have some plant based sausages which is really neat! My husband got the Italian sausage (we think it might be field roast brand or similar) and enjoyed it. I didn't get any other food, but this is a place I would come back to and try again. Oh also, they have a shot ski where you get 4 shots and they make a little show of you and 3 friends taking shots off the ski together! It's great fun and I reccomend it!

Visited this place today and had a great time. If you like German food give this place a well earned try. I was impressed with selection and quality of food. Beer selection was great and everything was available. This place has family style seating as well as traditional dining seating available. Restaurant was very clean and service was top notch. Update(11/3/21)- Back again and food is still GREAT. The Cajun Schnitzel is an unusual, yet amazing dish. My wife (AKA- Partner In Crime) had the Kings Burger, which she loved. It came with a pretzel bun, which was a nice feature from a standard bun. Beer selection is still great, as is the customer service. Today we dined outside and enjoyed the cooler temps. The strudel was a good finish for the great meal and time.
