Treats Unleashed — Local services in Leawood

I have only ever written one other review but I decided this place deserved one. I called last week to schedule an appointment for my dog to get a bath and a haircut. I stated that he needed his nails cut too and the staff member let me know that it is included in the service. I said great! And my appointment was made for today. It was my first time in the store today and I was kinda confused as to how their check-in process worked so I waited in line until I was the next customer. The friendly staff member from the front desk greeted me and asked if we had a grooming appointment. I said yes and she went to get our groomer. The groomer came out and started examining my dog. (I thought) she asked if we were getting a wash and trim today and I said yes! She said ok, I'm going to take him back and we will be out in a few minutes.This struck me as odd that it would only take a few minutes for a full grooming service and also that she never once asked me what kind of cut I was wanting but I said ok and waited in the lobby. 5 minutes later, she emerges from the grooming area with my dog and says his nails were all trimmed and buffed. I said, "Great! I'm sorry, but I thought we were scheduled for a bath and a haircut as well." Her exact words were, "I don't have time for that today, check with the front desk to see if I'm available next week." And with that, she walked away. I was surprised at how harsh and rude she was. I paid the $20 for a NAIL TRIM and left. I won't be back.

I’m leaving a 2 star review as I think everyone here is friendly & knowledgeable. However, I’ve taken my dog here for the last 2 years to be groomed, he’s a 40lb well behaved mutt who loves everyone & has never been difficult to deal with come bath time(I just don’t have the time or want the mess of doing it at home). I had an incident about 4 months ago where my dogs tail was sprained (took him to the vet to confirm)& he was in pain for several days after his bath. I contacted treats unleashed & just wanted to let them know about what had happened.(I didn’t seek any refund nor was I looking for a handout, not that I received one.) I just wanted to make sure that my dog was not with that groomer again & that they were aware he had been injured during his bath. I continued to be a loyal customer and even referred friends to this location. Today I dropped him off at 8:30 this morning picked him up at 12 and had to run to work, when I got home my kids said he was acting funny panting, pacing and licking his tail. His legs were shaky & his tail tucked between his legs. He was obviously in pain, it’s now almost 10pm he’s pacing & cant get comfortable I’ve given him puppy pain reliever that I had leftover from last time & am almost positive that his tail is sprained or even broken, which will be another vet bill as we are headed out of town & I want to make sure he’s ok to go with us. I honestly considered not leaving a review because the experience was so bad and I gave them direct feedback. But the more I look at my dog, the more upset I am with the results. My husband dropped our dog off and asked them to keep the length and keep her fluffy. We dropped her off and probably not even an hour later. She's ready to go? Upon picking her up, it literally looks like they just shaved her down. We paid for one of the most expensive haircut packages they offered. Her faces is choppy. Her ears are uneven. Her legs are uneven. And then they tell us they weren't even able to trim her claws and they're literally grooming professionals. They Claimed my fifteen pound dog was aggressive. As her owner, I could admit she's squeamish. But they blatantly claimed she was going to "bite" them .I paid more than $80 for them to sheer my dog like a sheep. And frankly, I have never had a dog grooming experience take less than 2 hours. It just felt lazy, rushed through and like they didn't even listen to what we had asked them to do.
