My 5 star treatment from the staff at Kendra Scott began back in December when my boss surprised us with a Color Bar experience for our Christmas party. The ladies we connected with there were so kind and incredibly generous with their time. They treated us like royalty and made sure we were given ample time to create our own pieces to take home. I created a beautiful bracelet that evening and unfortunately less than a month later, my clumsy self managed to damage it so badly that it was no longer wearable. Fast forward to earlier this week when my 3 year old daughter and I were out running errands and decided to swing by the store to see if there was any hope of repairing my bracelet, that I was met with even more exceptional service from the staff here. I walked in and showed my bracelet to the kind woman working the Color Bar that day (I'm hating myself for not catching her name). I explained what I'd done and asked if there was any way to repair it. She took one look at it and said that unfortunately she wouldn't be able to fix it. Fully prepared to foot the bill for a new one, I then asked if I could make another one for purchase. She then took the bracelet from me, proceeded to extract the stones from it and make me a brand new one at no cost to me! As my daughter and I sat there waiting for my new bracelet to be completed, we began talking about our next stop for the day. We were out shopping for a new dress for her to wear to her very first daddy daughter ball happening the following month. Another one of the lovely gals working that day overheard our conversation, disappeared into the back room and returned with a sparkly Kendra Scott nail polish that she gifted to my daughter saying, "this will go nicely with your new dress!" I was flabbergasted; absolutely blown away by her kindness! The look on my daughters face was pure joy and if that were the end of our story, I'd be thrilled. However, the kindness we were shown next almost brought me to tears. After my bracelet was repaired, we took a quick look around to see if there was anything I just had to have before heading out. I was perusing the jewelry when I heard a loud bang behind me. I shuttered knowing full well that the noise I'd heard just had to have come from my daughter. Sure enough, I turn around to find my 3 year old standing next to a fallen decorative piece from the front window display. As I'm consoling my daughter and apologizing to everyone within ear shot, the staff begin to make their way over to me. I was fully prepared to get an ear full about not doing a better job of watching my child, or at least be met with some disapproving looks from the staff. However, I was instead met with genuine concern for my daughters well being. The kind lady who made my new bracelet was the first to come over and as I apologized over and over again, she replied with "oh don't worry about that, those things (the decorative pieces) aren't secured up there very well anyway. Is she (my daughter) okay?" Rather than receiving what I felt I truly deserved for being a distracted Mom, I instead was met with pure kindness from everyone. To top things off, as I'm consoling my child in my arms, another one of the incredible women working that day emerged from the back room with a piece of chocolate to make my daughter feel better! Leaving the shop that day, I found myself feeling as though I'd encountered something incredibly rare. Exceptional customer service seems to be a lost art these days, but not to these Kendra Scott gals! They did everything in their power to not only care for my jewelry needs, but to also make sure that this Momma didn't feel unwelcome in their store with her child. Whoever does the hiring for this location...keep up the good work! These girls are irreplaceable...
Read moreThis location is so handy but the customer service isn’t great. Plaza location has way better customer service.
I’m hoping the staff works off of commission because that’s the only reason I can think of why myself and others have felt like the employees do not help us. Every time I go in, I’m ignored. I have to track someone down and if I ask a question, they seem annoyed.
I don’t look like a bum or anything but I’m also not wearing name brand everything and I don’t typically carry a purse. I do not have anything that calls to attention how much or little money I have.
Today I came into the store at the same time as a mom with her daughter. The staff ignored me and started talking to them. I wandered around the store and looked at literally everything and no one had approached me. After a while, I asked if the Mama bracelets come with the pearl like the necklace did. The employee said to me that she doesn’t know every option available. So I asked her if she could find out. She was frustrated about putting a necklace back together and eventually went to the back to look. During that time I was able to Google and find my answer.
I eventually went to check out and only 1 employee was ringing anyone out. There were 3 of us in line and 5 employees. 3 were at the counter in the back looking at something and 1 was adjusting displays. It was so strange to have to wait when there were so many employees there.
My husband went earlier in the week to pick out a gift for me. He showed them pictures of what I like. They didn’t have it in stock so they just showed him bracelets in general and didn’t try to find similar items.
Again, love Kendra Scott but hate this customer service. If you do go to this location, just google stuff yourself and if the line is long, just order online. Or better yet, go to the...
Read moreKendra Scott is one of my two teenage daughters favorite places to shop. It is always top of their list for birthday and Christmas presents. We went to the store in Leawood on Sunday as it was my daughter's 15th birthday and she wanted to spend some of her birthday money as well as get her birthday discount. Every visit to this store in the past has been so positive, but not on Sunday. The lady who helped us was unfriendly and unkind. When we asked to use her birthday discount she acted like it was such a bother. THIS WAS HER ACTUAL BIRTHDAY! Then when the transaction was done she handed us the necklace saying they were "out of small bags, so just throw this in your purse." She didn't have a purse. What a disappointing experience for my 15 year old on her birthday. We all left feeling deflated and very unimportant. A not so happy birthday for her after all.
EDITED: We ended up having to return to the store the next day and our experience was so much better! The employee that helped us was so kind and helpful! Exactly the kind of service we are use too! I also want to thank the customer care department at Kendra Scott. They reached right out to me after my review. They truly care about their customer's experience in the store. We...
