Tomahawk Park — Attraction in Leawood

This is a delightful park! The playground is fun as is, but will supposedly undergo renovations this summer 2024…so keep an eye out for that. Currently it’s a great play set for ages 2-5.

No bathrooms, but when we went there was one port-a-potty available which was very helpful.

One thing I love about this park is all the trees around it! They offer great shade around the playground and along the trail nearby. There’s also a baseball diamond and field across the street that appear to be well-maintained. By the park are a few small picnic tables- not a great park for a large party, but for a small gathering it could be delightful! (Minus the absence of bathrooms.)

We definitely plan on returning to this park- maybe next time we will bring bikes for...

Its a pretty sweet park, lots of trails, soccer fields, baseball diamond, playgrounds, etc. It's close to trader Joe's and the mix (salad place) and a bunch of other stuff I'm sure too. I've only been there a few times and every one on the trails are nice and polite. The only thing I haven't gotten the grasp of quite yet is how the trails connect, or how long they are. Great place for at nature like walk. There is a trail that runs though the park and along Tomahawk Creek. There are beautiful vegetation that is well maintained to help with the natural beauty and the creek bank.
