goat cheese app tasted like old burnt fryer oil. The app was served with toast that was too hard it shattered.
Food was horrible. Ordered smoked prime rib and shrimp and grits. Mashed potato horsey mac and cheese green beans. After an hour and ten min wait food came out. My GFs prime rib was the heal. The prime rib was colder than room temp. My shrimp and grits had the smell and taste of old/mishandled sea food and salt. Both of the plates were returned to the kitchen. the sides were cold. The gravy for the mash had no other taste but salt. The cold mac and cheese had no horseradish taste. The green beans with blue cheese and bacon would have been great hot.
Plates returned for another slice of smoked prime rib and a Shepard's pie. The prime rib was an excellent cut of meat, over salted and over smoked. I think they rushed it out because we got the end piece the first time. The meat had no seasoning except salt. The shepherds pie was a giant baked potato with over salted meat covered in cheese. the pie plate was full of the over salty tasteless gravy. The chef came out and leaned over the table made things odd and asked that I take a bit from the middle.
In the end our dog gets the prime rib. Live music in the place was good and a good volume, decor was nice, wait...
Read more"Fancy southern food." My girls (10 and 12) and I went here for a Saturday night out. No kids menu that I saw, but no big deal because the portions were below average and both kids finished their adult selections. (See photos). We had a teenage waiter that while he was sweet, for "fine dining" could have been more attentive. Bread basket was a mix of interesting sweet potato mini muffins and jalapeno cornbread waffles. Entrees were the shepherd's pie (which came out not warm enough to even melt the cheese on the plate), mo'Cara chicken , and the sirloin steak. Steak was good, but undercooked to the preference requested. Decent selection of wines. Two dessert options(coconut cake and flourless chocolate cake) plus a host of ice cream flavors. Cotton candy ice cream had the texture of Italian ice rather than the creaminess of ice cream. Overall, this was a fun place to try, but we won't be back anytime soon. For 3 entrees, 3 soft drinks, and one slice of cake a la mode, the total came to $90 including tip. It misses the mark of fine dining for the quantity,...
Read moreMo'Cara's is a real gem of an addition to Lebanon's resturant selection. Cozy, comfortable decor with white table cloth charm. The live music on Friday and Saturday nights is a wonderful mix of favorites and beautiful melodies (Cudos to Rich). The menu includes an eclectic mix of cuisines to include more mainstream dishes like smoked prime rib, sesame encrusted seared tuna, and bbq ribs...to unique twists on Southern classics like seared sea scallops with a strawberry/raspberry reduction atop specially seasoned collard greens, to mac-and-cheese stuffed meatloaf. Truly something for everyone, something different to try every visit. Check out the desert selection, that includes unique twists on favorite cakes. Plus the chef is a true pioneer in developing unique flavors of in-house made ice creams. When the same old resturant menus seem boring, this menu will reexcite you to want to eat out again, as they always offer unique specials to mix it up. A weekend brunch menu was added in January, 2019. The service has never failed to be anything but first rate on...
