Too bad I cannot give 0 stars. My husband purchased the knife set for me as a gift - the knife set is ok - not exactly the brand I wanted but it is good. So I asked for a cleaver - he purchased the 7" cleaver for me. I opened the package and was excited to use the cleaver to cut a whole ribeye into steaks - this thing would not cut through at all - not sure it could cut through butter that was just out of the refrigerator either. The blade is dull and rough to the touch, I wouldn't even slice into one sheet of paper! The store will not take it back because it was opened, so I contacted Wustof - their response was that I need to pay for shipping and send the knife to a company to have it sharpened and pay for return shipping! Really - you made a crap product and I need to pay well over $100 for 1 knife plus pay about $50 so that the knife will actually work!!!! We recently had a scalloped meat slicer knife that developed a hairline crack in the blade. I looked up Wustof knives website, which explained their return policy in detail. I downloaded the required form and filled it out. Secured the defective knife with tape and zip ties and mailed the knife and form letter to the supplied address. I kept the tracking number and shipping receipt. After a month of waiting, nothing. I sent a picture of the shipping receipt with the tracking number to the Wustof email and the next day received an email advising me of a credit code.
