Dowds Catfish & BBQ — Restaurant in Lebanon

We just left about 30 mins ago on 04 Feb 2018. Our server is name Taylor. She's pretty good. Very attentive and alert. She had a large table of about 10 or 12, a table of 6 or 8, us and few other tables. She did an AWESOME job. I can't blame her for the poor quality of the food. So if I'm only rating her, she gets 5 STARS. We've eaten here several times before. I got the all you can eat two meat meal, fish and shrimp. The fish and shrimp was over over over cooked. The second and third order of shrimp was extremely greasy. The second order of fish and shrimp came out pretty fast and over-cooked also. I got only shrimp the third time but it was extremely greasy. I saw the manager walking around but he never made it to our table. So I wasn't able to mention anything to him. I'd usual say something to the waitress or ask her to send the manager over but my wife enjoyed her burger so much that I just took one for the team. Don't get me wrong, this is a very very nice place to dine but today wasn't the best day for them. There were quite a few people in there and quite a few large parties to serve. I'm not making excuses for them, I'm just saying it was extremely busy and the food wasn't the best we've had there. This wasn't our first or second time here and it won't be our last time either. Don't let my experience today stop anyone from going to this establishment because It truly is a top quality/down home style restaurant. We've enjoyed this place in the past and we'll continue to dine here...

Party of four today for lunch. I had the Fried Catfish BLT and it was pretty disappointing. Actually looked very good at first. But could have a better build on the sandwich. Very greasy, the outside of the bread was to the point of being soggy with grease/butter/oil. But for that it might have been a great sandwich. Very large portions. Not a fan of the potato wedges, they were pretty blah and not crispy at all even though they looked like they would be. More like microwaved potato wedges. The jalapeño hush puppies did not have any heat and marginal jalapeño flavor. The reason there are three stars is the rest of the party. Chicken strips and fried catfish were very good all around. The fries and okra were crispy and cooked through. Service was good but the restroom was out of paper towels at 1130 AM. The men’s room smelled like a construction site porta toilet. I don’t get this. Restrooms should be clean, especially when you first open or shortly thereafter. It wasn’t that busy. I might go back but it would not be my first choice. Went around 5pm on Sundy, nott too many people. Were seated right away and the server came right away to take our drink order. When she brought the drinks she took the appetizer order. The appetizer came out quick and were fantastic. We had the fried dill pickles and fried mushrooms. They come with an excellent ranch dip. The pockles are dill spears, this surprised me because everywhere else I have had them they will dill chips. This way is really better I think because you get more pickle flavor. When she brought out the appetizers we placed our main order. Just as we finished the appetizers out came the main course. We ordered the family order of fried catfish with the pinto beans, cole slaw and our choice of potato was french fries. All was great. Fish was fried perfectly, 24 pices is a lot. Slaw was very nice and the pinto beans were very flavorful as well. Server was friendly and checked on us a few times. Asked if we wanted to go boxes and brought them right out.
