We went for an early lunch on Father's day. We were seated right away, but at a "personal booth." We waited about 4 minutes to place our drink order. We both ordered horchata, $2.50 each- came in a large glass- FULL of ice- the horchata was good, lots of cinnamon. The chips were a little over cooked, but they were fresh. The original salsa that was brought out had a bland, basic tomato flavor. We ordered a hot salsa. It was very "runny" with a few chunks of onion, & a couple pieces of cilantro, & maybe a sliver of ginger? It had a different flavor for sure, it wasn't the worst, but was not great. After getting our drinks, we ordered the fiesta fajitas for two- $21.00. The menu stated it was: shrimp, chicken, steak, peppers, onions, & came with a guac salad- fried rice, refried beans, lettuce, pico, & guacamole. I asked if we could please get chorizo added to the fajitas. The waitress, hesitated, looked at me, nodded yes, & wrote it down. We ordered the chile toreados, & the menu also offered a "side of diced tomatoes" which I requested. 10-15 minutes later, the chile toreados were brought out, alone, which was disappointing because we would prefer to eat them WITH our meal. They had lots of seasoning, possibly Lawry's seasoning salt & paprika. They were fresh & had good flavor. About another 15 minutes went by before we got our meal. The waitress saw my horchata was empty & asked if I wanted "another one." The menu said "no refills" so at $2.50 a glass, I requested a glass of water. Finally, our food arrived. It was a lot of plates for a "personal booth" for two people. We immediately noticed the skillet of fajitas was not sizzling- it was not even steaming. The chorizo was on a separate plate- NOT added to the fajitas as we requested. The skillet was FULL of onions. The shrimp appeared to only be cooked on one side. There was NO flavor, at all. Did they omit the seasonings?? The guac salads had barely a teaspoon of guacamole, but a tablespoon portion of sour cream- which the menu did NOT list. IF the menu would have stated sour cream, I would have requested NO SOUR CREAM PLEASE. While removing the sour cream from my plate, I sadly gave up most of the small bit of guacamole that was on my salad. The rice was extremely dry. The beans had good flavor. My "side of diced tomatoes" came out as 4 thin slices of Roma tomato on a separate plate. The flour tortillas were warm. We had waited so long for our food, that we filled up on horchata & chips. We each ate 2 tortillas & decided we were done. We sat there waiting for our waitress for 8 minutes. I asked a different waitress if we could please get a to-go box (we decided to take the majority of the fajita mixture home & cook it longer & add seasonings to it), & our ticket. The waitress was friendly, but inattentive. The restaurant was clean. The wait was too long. The food did not come the way the menu stated. The food was very disappointing. We will not...
Read moreIf I could give less than one star I would. My rice tasted like an odd chemical. Almost like there was some type of medication ground up in it. The beans were loose like they had been thinned to stretch them with water. They tasted like a hint of dish soap. Odd because my silverware was dirty. My chili relleno was aweful. There was a half a tea spoon of something white that I believe was supposed to be cheese. It was runny. It had no resemblance to cheese in flavor or consistency. It was more of a flavorless white sauce. The batter was thin on the chilI and soggy like it had been taken off a plate a week ago or cooked and left laying out to rot. The cheese enchalada had the same nasty white slime and maybe a full tea spoon of it in a tortia, nothing else just that. Food was nasty. Not edible. My husbands food was the same garbage with the exception of the lettuce seemed fresh. Salsa mediocre. The chips which I will usually down a basket were hardly touched because they had a bad taste like dirty oil. Naturally after I ate there I got sick. I had to fight off a fly to eat. The person in charge I believe was manager or owner was not friendly. I can't even imagine how nasty dirty the kitchen has to be like something off kitchen nightmares show. The ONLY nice thing I can say is there were two women working there very nice and friendly. No idea how this nasty food ever got a good rating. We were both super hungry too. Usually that can help you over look alot but not here. Unless you like being sick after a meal eat...
Read moreWell let’s see. I got a table with no wait at dinner time on Saturday night. Should’ve been a red flag right there. I ordered a margarita on the rocks that was questionable at best, especially for 7$. The salsa that was brought to the table was thin and lacking flavor. I ordered a burrito fajita. The red sauce that was on top tasted like water and ketchup. It definitely wasn’t red sauce. There was a slimy dollop of guac which I discarded. The burrito itself wasn’t to bad and the rice and beans were good after a quick sprinkle of salt. Then after I was finished my waiter immediately brought my check when he came to get my plate without asking if I wanted anything else. I was staying at the motel next door and was planning on having a few margaritas and a bowl of queso but felt so rushed and put out I decided it was their loss. I left a very minimal tip and went elsewhere to spend my money. I wouldn’t recommend this place as a last resort. If you’re that hard up for some grub there is a Waffle House almost right across the street that is honestly probably...
