I visited this restaurant on Saturday, July 26th with a group of six. At first, the service seemed okayāthe server took our drink orders fairly quickly. However, it took another 10ā15 minutes before she returned to take our food orders.
We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer, but they didnāt come out for at least 20 minutes. They were decent, but definitely not worth the long wait.
When our meals finally arrived, I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the chicken Alfredo, my mom got plain noodles with Alfredo sauce, my dad had a steak, my brother ordered the poā boy fish sandwich, and my grandparents got salmon and another dish.
My chicken Alfredo was terribleāthe sauce was watery and bland, more like soup than Alfredo. It tasted like baby food, my noodles were cold, and the only decent thing on the plate was the breadstick. To make it worse, the chicken was undercooked and had a glossy, raw texture. I actually ended up going across the street to Slim Chickens afterward because I couldnāt eat it.
The steak wasnāt great either, and the wait time for it was way too long. The server blamed it on the steak being thick, but that excuse didnāt make senseāit doesnāt take that long to cook a steak properly.
On top of that, I tried to play the duck claw machine and put in my quarters, but it didnāt work. That just added to the frustrationāI really wanted to try winning a duck.
Overall, this experience was very disappointing. Iām highly unlikely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I were the only one waiting to be seated while the restaurant was less than quarter full. Several waitress walked by and told us someone would seat us. We waited about 10 minutes as they walked back and forth. Finally one of the waitress turned into a hostess and seated us. About 5 minutes later a waitress came by and said she would be with us in a few minutes. About 5 minutes later she came by and took our order. Wife ordered the 8 ounce sirloin medium rare with the homemade chips and a salad, I ordered the 12 ounce top sirloin medium, baked potato and salad. Also ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms. The mushroom were up first in about 5 minutes. They were ok, not a lot of crab meat. Salads came out about 3 minutes later and were pretty good. Then the wait. About 30 minutes. People were coming in and being served before us. Waitress would walk by and say they were coming up shortly. She said they wanted the steaks perfectly cooked. Wifeās margarita was very good. When the steaks came out, wife sirloin was rare. I mean raw. Plus it was the poorest cut of meat imaginable. The 12 ounce top sirloin was a great cut however, it was done to overdone. Pretty much ruined it. It had great markings, but was dry. Baked potato wasnāt cooked enough. Wifeās chips were very good. Overall a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreohmuhgoodness i was so impressed! my bf and i were just in lebanon for an over-night pit stop and how lucky for us we got checked into the holiday in with time to spare to walk across the parking lot to a friendly, local-feeling spot with a decent drink selection and a menu of great options. he got a rare ribeye and i got a mid-rare filetāboth cooked and served expertly and worth every penny. we were a couple of the last guests of the night before the kitchen closed and our meal showed no fatigue or discontentājust excellence. it was the steak i want my mom to get when she orders a steak because that is how much i love my mom and how much i value steak. lisa, the bartender, was such a hustler detailing and resetting the floor and bar on this friday night! her trips to the kitchen and other chores were timed well so we never felt abandoned sitting at the bar or wanted for a refill on beer, whiskey, or frozen margarita.
BIG THANKS to lisa for hosting and helping a couple weary travelers refuel and relax! i wish i would have gotten other employee names to drop because top-to-bottom service like that takes every player!
my one critique: lighting. SO BRIGHT. but, per lisa, there are new fixtures and dimmers coming so just shut up and take my...
