Planet Fitness — Local services in Lee

Yesterday, as I rode the exercise bike, I was very dismayed that I could not find the major news channels on TV. I particularly like to switch between Fox and CNN to follow current news and compare how the networks cover it-or not. I dislike exercising, but the TV news makes it palatable. I told the manager, but she said the changes, including removal of several TVs, were done without her being consulted, and she knew little about it. During the rest of my workout and while showering, I began thinking of finding an alternate fitness center which would be more to my needs. Just as I was leaving, the manager caught me and said she had someone working on it and Fox News was back up. I felt relieved. I realize that I am in a minority, but I felt I should let you know that watching the main cable news as well as occasionally local news and weather while working out is important to me. Planet fitness is what it is, a place with lots of equipment that is maintained well. They advertise that they are the no judgement zone. Who knows what that means, really? Does anyone get hassled at other gyms. This one is in a great location on the Lee traffic circle. Plenty of parking and a market basket and other stores in the same location. Judgement aside if you are comfortable giving them a mountain of personal I D information including your bank acct routing number so they can help themselves to your fees for a year, this is you gym. Give this some thought though. We live in a time when far bigger companies have been hacked and had customer info stolen. These guys need to come up with a system that assures client confidentiality. This is just a company either running their own servers or leasing space on somebody else's. Nether is ideal but we live with this for our credit cards and medical record, but for a gym? It's a...

A couple of weeks ago I was accidentally charged twice by this planet fitness for a bottle of tanning lotion. I saw this on my bank statement and called the gym to have it taken care of. The employee I spoke to told me they would hand over my information to the manager and have him call me but I didn’t hear for a couple weeks. I called again and was able to speak with the manager who had this taken care of for me right away. I wasn’t able to drive to this location to pick up the cash so the manager Gregg decided he would just mail me a 20 dollar visa gift card to my house (which was more than the amount of the tanning lotion). Gregg expressed that he was not made aware of the situation from the employee and apologized for this. It’s easy for employees to forget this kind of stuff but thankfully Gregg went above and beyond in taking care of it as soon as I spoke with him about it....
