Absolute Recomp Lewisville — Local services in Lewisville

I gave 3 stars because I’m rating the gym for its functionality & its atmosphere. Functionality is 5+ stars. The gym is phenomenal. So much equipment & organized perfectly. You could go every day for a lifetime & never do the same workout. The atmosphere is terrible to me. I can get past the blaring music with non-stop cursing & lyrics about murder, because I have noise-canceling headphones (except in the locker room). What I can’t get past is letting dudes workout without shirts on. I don’t know anyone that goes to a gym & chooses no shirt, & I don’t know any respectable business that allows it. I’d say the atmosphere is like working out in a prison yard because of that. It’s a shame because the building is remarkable.

I’m editing my review because I’ve been back twice since my last. It appears that everything has been reeled in. The members are nice for the most part. Staff is great & constantly sweeping the floor. Again, the music isn’t a big deal to me. Who am I to say what people want to...

Initial review of Absolute Recomp:

As you walk into the lobby you’ll be greeted by a front desk service along with a gigantic LED screen on the ceiling with various displays. It definitely looks sleek and modern.

Membership: if you sign up you won’t get any message that you’ve paid for the membership unless you confirm with the front desk people. They will tell you and let you know you’ll be sent a email confirmation with a link to an app to download.

Machines: I think this is where Absolute Recomp will beat out all of their competition. Their machines are top of the line and you will see things you’ve never seen before. Amazing how much they’ve dedicated to the machines for all sorts of workouts.

Dry Sauna: They also have a dry sauna which is an amazing amenity for a gym.

I'll start with the positives. The facility itself is top notch. There is an incredible variety of equipment, some of which I've never seen at any other gym. The locker room/sauna/showers are well designed and clean. My issue with this gym is the misleading/deceptive information that was provided on their website during the pre-opening signup period. There was clearly a statement on the signup page indicating a 10% discount on monthly membership fees. I also have a screenshot of this. When I checked my billing statement, there was no discount listed. I spoke with the gym manager and was told it was an error and they would not be honoring the discount.
