This is by far the worst target I’ve ever been to. Friday September 23rd, I visited target in Lewisville, Texas to purchase a birthday gift for a family member. I brought my two year old daughter with me, who had to witness ME (the only black girl in the self checkout) be asked did I ring up two items during my purchase! I asked this employee does the register take Apple Pay, THESE ARE HER EXACT WORDS “yes, but did you ring up the doll and backpack”. Now I waited in the self checkout line for probably five minutes beforehand, and I didn’t see her ask anyone else that. There were numerous customers who hadn’t bagged up all their items, so why single me out? I asked to speak with management and the supervisor told me I’m sorry it’s protocol. If it’s protocol, then every customer should be asked the same question, even before they pull their money or card out to complete their transaction 🤦🏽♀️. So we sat and waited to see if she asked any of the other customers did they ring their items up that weren’t bagged. Well of course she didn’t, because none of them were black. Not only that I hadn’t paid for my items when I called her over for help. Because yes someone stealing is going to bring more attention to themselves, by asking for help 🙄! EVEN THOUGH I RUNG THOSE TWO SPECIFIC ITEMS UP AT THE BEGINNING OF MY TRANSACTION, how did she know I wasn’t going to do two separate transactions? You don’t ask a customer have they rung up their items when they haven’t even finished their transaction! It was beyond disgusting. She didn’t apologize and even laughed at me for getting upset. Then to make matters worse, I spoke with the operations manager, and was promised it was taken care of by HR. He assured me she was wrong. He even said she didn’t have to ask me that, she could have looked on her handheld scanner to see if I rung those items up. So I felt secure in their promise of action being taken. A talk is not good enough when someone is discriminated against. Then to be laughed at, like I’m not a human being just like her, because my skin color is different is horrendous! Well guess what! I go to this same target last night, and who is at the self checkout? Lol like you have to be kidding me. Apparently it’s ok for their employees to discriminate against certain “customers”. So I will blast this specific target on every platform I have. Target is known for discriminating against black people. I guess our money is not good enough for them! Which is fine, because eventually if they keep operating in this manner and continuously being sued, there won’t be any targets for black people to spend their unwanted...
Read moreToday I placed an order really fast for a pick up order at Lakepointe Towne Crossing Target 725 Hebron Pkwy, Lewisville, TX 75057 (as my home store did not have the item I was looking for). After placing the order, I realized that I would not be able to pick it up in the two hour window as the location was too far from my sons school. I decided to drive up and pick the item up in person instead. Once I got to the store, I realized that it was a cyber Monday deal so I could not just purchase in store for same price. I went up to customer service and asked if it was possible to fill the online order as I had the items in hand. A simple yes or no is all I needed. I was told that they could not do that because they could not transfer over card information, and they would have to cancel the order and I would have to rebuy it. He continued to tell me this is the busiest time of the year and I can’t just cut in front of other orders so I just needed to cancel. At this point it seemed as if he was going to keep talking so I just told him okay I’ll come back later. I was not coming back later too far of a drive & rush hour starts at 3pm on my side of town. I did however cancel the store pick up and reorder for them to ship to my house. My problem is that the employee seemed condescending. He gave me way too much information and addressed problems I did not even have. I did not care if the card information would not transfer over and I had to repurchase, I did not care if my current order has to be cancelled. He could have easily said No, I’m sorry per our policy we can’t do that. If he dug deeper he could have asked why I was unable to ring the items up (that I already had in hand) at the register. He could have even just suggested I cancel the order and repurchase it to send to my house. There was a super simple solution, but I was instead given the worst experience by the employee patronizing lengthy unhelpful explanation of no. Clearly I already had the items so I could fulfill the order myself I just needed guidance and direction on how to be do that and still get the sale price. I figured it out on my own no thanks to him. Perhaps the employee should be more aware as to how they communicate...
Read moreThis review is going to make me sound like a Karen, so apologies in advance. I do not normally post reviews about bad service because everyone has bad days, but the customer service at this location has to be the worst I've had at any Target in DFW. Specifically those at the guest service desk - would it kill any of you to learn Target's policies before telling guests what is or isn't allowed? Before I get negative I'd like to shoutout the self-checkout team, they're always super kind and helpful.
On two separate occasions I've had team members give me incorrect information and when I insisted (correctly) that their claims were untrue they doubled down. On the first occasion, a team member told me Target does not usually price match with Walmart. One of your biggest competitors and you don't price match? I've pulled up the PDF list online that clearly dictates which stores Target will price match with (provided it is the actual price, not a sale price), Walmart is very much included. Begrudgingly the team member price matched for me as a "just this once." I prefer to shop at Target as a RedCard holder but if this is the way the policy is going to be enforced, I will just buy the item at Walmart next time I guess.
On another instance, I had purchased some clothing in store while it was 30% off. Recently Target HQ decided to move certain sizes to online only, and the clothing I had purchased in store didn't quite fit me so I intended to wait for it to go online and purchase/exchange it. The team member at guest services told me that "we don't price match with online." That's your own website, and you won't price match? Again, I've very thoroughly looked through the Price Match policy available on Target's site. Target absolutely price matches with online. I went to a different location and had their guest service team confirm a price adjustment could be done as long as it was within 14 days of both purchases (it was).
Should any ETL read this review, some of the guest service TMs are awesome!!! But recently service has been less than stellar and I wish they knew the policies so guests can be helped...
