John G. Roche Opticians — Local services in Lexington

Walked into this darling of a store on Main St. near Magee's Bakery and was greeted by 2 of the best store staff members that I have ever met in such a very long time. The atmosphere of this store is fabulous. It is like a cross between a fine art gallery and the best eye frame retail establishment one could ever imagine for Lexington (in my opinion, it is the best in Lexington). I gazed at the impressive selection that had been displayed ever so carefully. Chose two pairs and, with the help of Jessica and Francis, I subsequently selected a pair of frames that fit so effortlessly on my face that it was as if the frames had been custom made just for me.

Within a matter of days, my prescription lenses had arrived and the owner, John Roche, personally made the final fine tuning of my 'smart looking' Alain Mikli frames .

I was so happy and impressed with the service and product I received at John G. Roche Opticians that I brought my 15 year old daughter to their Annual Holiday Open House and found a perfect pair of 'Oliver Peeples' to frame her beautiful brown eyes.

I first met John Roche in his Winchester location on a day when I was in that community for other business. After spending just a few minutes with him, it was easy to see his vast knowledge is the optical field and his total commitment to customer satisfaction.

Upon returning home that evening I mentioned my encounter with John to my wife and we agreed that we were both ready for a change, having worked with a local but far higher volume optical shop. We visited his Lexington store that weekend and met with John and his son Francis, who oversees the Lexington location. We saw many great options for new eyeglasses and even got a solid recommendation from John for an established ophthalmologist for eye exams.

A couple of Saturdays later we returned with our new prescriptions and chose some distinctive new eyewear. We both received our new glasses last week and are extremely happy with the frames, lenses, fitting and overall service from John, Francis and the entire Roche team. We're so happy to have found the RIGHT opticians for us!

UPDATE: About a week ago I detected an issue with my new eyeglass frame and stopped by; Francis called later that day to ask me to bring them by to examine the issue and identify a solution. Received a call today to say that "your glasses are in" and was stunned to find that Francis had obtained an entirely new replacement frame to resolve the problem. What...

I'm so grateful for the personal service and great selection at John G. Roche. I checked a few places before buying my glasses here, and I have to say that John G. Roche has by far the best selection of frames in town. If you are looking for excellent clean design, please stop in their store. The atmosphere is modern and airy, and the staff is very helpful, yet not pushy at all. I adore Oliver Peoples and they are the only shop in town to carry them. After trying on a few pairs, they picked out a pair for me that I knew were the ones as soon as I put them on. The funny thing is, I hadn't noticed them before they picked them out for me. The color blue is amazing with my eyes and coloring, and they were able to identify a style and size that fit me perfectly. Also, the lenses they had cut for my frames are super thin, the thinnest and lightest weight I have ever owned. I love them, and I can see much better than my old glasses!
