El Torito Meat Market — Local services in Lincoln City

Over the year this place has really stepped it up. Customer service has been top notch and the produce has been great. Only complaint is that when I get tacos on taco Tuesdays they always seem to over cook the carne asada. They cook it to much so it's hard... come on guys, stop over cooking your taco meat!

Besides that, nice people great selection, cooked food so so....

Old Post: Let me start by saying normally this place has great hot food and fresh produce but over the past year it lost something.

Can I say very disappointed as a local. Been here a lot over the past couple years but today walked in and the fresh corn on the cob was rotted after purchasing and shucking at home. Bought 6, 4 were rotted.

Also purchased 2 carne asada tacos (normally delicious) today it was like the tacos were made days ago and reheated. All the meat in both tacos broke apart in small very hard pieces even the radish slices were noticeably dried out, tried even squeezing the limes it came with and NO juice came out, NOTHING WAS EDIBLE.

So I had to throw away 4 corns and the tacos, what a waste of money. I always try to buy more local but after today this place has lost my business. I did call but unfortunately they could not understand me and they eventually just hung up on me even though I was polite as I could be.

Will not revisit. Not just due to today but it seems like their quality of freshness over time has diminished. The tacos have gotten smaller in size but higher in price. The Saturday BBQ chickens used to be worth the price but has gone up about 25% over a year and whoever cooks them always cooks them to their dried out.

Yes, we are a small tourist town but they don't think or feel...

I have driven by here so many times on my way to or from a job site. I have gotten really into making as much as I can from scratch. One of my loves is homemade tortillas (corn). And I am even more excited when I can find "odd" foods....purple flesh potatoes, purple carrots, different colored corn....Well, this place sells a brand called La Rosa that has white, yellow, and blue masa marina! I've used the blue masa before. But I was so excited to see this brand was a staple in this store. Anyway, if you need stuff to make tortillas, this place is for you. They also have an excellent pre-made tortilla selection I did not buy anything else, but: If you need dried chili peppers, spices, good meat, or good veggies, this is also an amazing...

The charbroiled BBQ marrinated chicken they make is so delicious. When you pull up to this store and smell the enticing aroma, you will not be able to resist. The flavor is on point, and grilled to perfection. The homemade rice and beans were so good and a nice surprise. Everyone of the employees were friendly. I didn't try any of their amazing looking marrinated meats such as carnitas, but I will when I return next time. I do wish they had added some tortillas with the meal, but that dosen't change my five star review for a five star...
