Always a pleasure to stop here and check out what is new in the different galleries. Am never disappointed. Chessman gallery is currently showing items from the Crow's Nest which is located in Toledo. I have been to the gallery and that place will blow your mind. The wonderful items just makes you want to pick up and look it over to see the intricate pieces that were combined. This gallery is a must see after seeing the current exhibition.
The pick up art kits for kids are always interesting to see what new kit they have come up with. Different ones for different age groups and comes with all that is needed to complete the project. I have picked up a few for some grand cousins. I always try to leave more than the requested donation. Is wonderful to see the interesting kits and all the pieces are donated.
The other gallery has fiber/quilt items on the walls. These are beautiful to see and when looking at them can see the amount of time and so labor intensive. The designs are all different and just beautiful. In the center of the room are displays of different size looms for weaving. On the top of the walls they have samples of the different weaves. One if my favorite displays are the gourds. All I ever saw was gourds made into bird houses. I had no idea there was a complete genre of things that could be done with them. Different sizes, colors and embellishments. I had no idea that such artistry could be done with gourds. I looked up online and was surprised at the amount of information about types of gourds, colors whether natural or painted and there are exhibitions held for the difference uses. To see just the variety that is on exhibition at the culture center takes your breath away. This was my 3rd visit and couldn't leave without getting another. This is a great venue with so many art classes/exhibitions. This is a must see for anyone interested in different areas of art and children to see and start to learn how to...

It's truly amazing that so much garbage ends up in the ocean, and to see it put to artistic use, truly enlightens me as to being much more responsible about the impact I leave on this planet. And there is no charge to visit this wonderful place! Highly recommend stopping by while this is on display, and hopefully we can all do our part to clean up the scenery...

All year long beach trash is collected, washed and sorted by color. Then artists assemble ocean inspired at from the collection. Very beautiful, inspiring and troubling at the same time. There are other businesses in the building: a yoga studio, art classes, museum and more. Great place to visit while in...
