American Indian Center of Ar Inc. — Local services in Little Rock

The American Indian Center of Arkansas is a wonderful grant funded program that has helped our family tremendously this year. Our daughter is 6, and since we do not live on our tribal reservation, she is not eligible for most all of our tribe’s services. AICA’s ACE program has really come through for us, buying all of her school supplies for the year. She is also attending tutoring with Kumon twice a week in person with work assigned daily which the ACE program has covered for us. Our daughter has been improving her reading skills and autonomy from what she has learned at this academic enrichment program. American Indian Center of Arkansas is such a great resource. We live outside of our native American tribe territory (Cherokee) and because of this we often don't qualify for services. Since our 6 year old daughter joined the ACE trailblazers program, she has received school supplies. This included backpack, lunch box, and requested classroom items. The American Indian Job Center and my career counselor Richard S. helped me apply for the WIOA grant which paid for the equipment I needed to get back into dog grooming, fix my car, got me into a career training program to be a Veterinary assistant, and they’re continuing to help me along my journey toward self sufficiency.
