I had the opportunity to host the evening of my bachelor party at this location on a Saturday night. We wanted to get me and my friends together to do some local gaming together.
This place was FAR from what I had hoped...
Even before we arrived at the venue, it took multiple days to get a response out of the company's email. Their response time was lacking and definitely did not meet up to par.
For how much money I had spent renting the place out for two hours, one would think I would get the top notch experience and assistance. The employee working the store had absolutely no interest at all being there, just staying on his phone and hiding from our needs. His demeanor towards my party was absolutely awful. The complete lack of care and attention to our requests was what really drove me towards the edge. He left multiple times through the evening, ABANDONING us on our own without any help. There was even a time he came back REEKING OF WEED. While what little time he was actually in the gaming lounge, he never checked up on us. We had to beg him for help setting up consoles and signing in. Complete lack of professionalism on his part through the entire time!
The entire store had felt as if it was neglected. STAINS on the floors, walls, and some of the chairs were spotted everywhere. The back rooms leading towards the employee's only areas, employee desks, and bathrooms were left entirely open and accessible. If children were to wander back there, they could seriously get in trouble or worse, HURT badly. Total lack of precaution!
The gaming equipment dirty and clogged with dust. We had to spend most of our limited time downloading the games we wanted to play on slow internet connections, setting up and waiting for the single staff member to assist us if he wasn't leaving the building multiple times during the night, and trying to work through loading games. The building had to have no AC as well, so it was hot, humid, and reeked of sweat/grime.
Overall, I would suggest DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE A CHANCE!!! It hurts my heart knowing a special day like my bachelor party was pretty much ruined by this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur experience at Takers Gaming was by far the worst gaming experience Iāve ever attended. This was supposed to be a bachelorās party for my best friend, and they absolutely ruined it.
We showed up 30 minutes early, as instructed, to set up, but the only worker on site left to get food right as we were starting. During our paid two-hour session, we wasted most of the time trying to log into systems that werenāt set up and had no games downloaded. The employee, more focused on his food than the customers, struggled just to get the systems working.
Once logged in, we discovered none of the games were installed, and with their painfully slow internet (3ā5 hours per download), our options were basically nonexistent. The only games we could play had to be streamed, which led to choppy frame rates and a frustrating experience.
To make matters worse, while we were still trying to get additional systems running, the worker disappeared for 40 minutes and came back smelling strongly of weed. The facility itself was filthy, dirt and leaves on the floor, stained mousepads, grimy PCs that we didnāt even want to touch. On top of that, the entire room was about 90 degrees because there was no air conditioning.
For this, they expected us to pay nearly $800. We ended up leaving early because it was that bad.
This was supposed to be a fun and memorable night, but instead it turned into a complete disaster. Do not waste your time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe got here for a party, had 2 hours to play. When we got there, all of the setups didn't have any games even downloaded onto it. The majority of our time there was spent downloading games that should have already been on the systems already. Instead of having a LAN party with a full set of games, we just had a 3v3 game of laggy Halo.
We also got in a little bit of Smash Bros. After we set up and got sick of using joycons to play, we went looking for a GameCube controller adapter. We found one ourselves behind the main desk. We went back there because the single staff member in the whole building went out to his car for what seemed like a 30 minute smoke break. He might have came in earlier than that, but I couldn't honestly tell considering that he didn't say a single word to our party.
It was also hot as hell in there, I don't think they had working AC. We weren't there long but my back was sticking to the chair after 30 minutes of playtime. And my God was it unclean in there, mystery substances under the gaming pc mousepads, stained carpet, just not a comfortable environment for anybody there.
All of this...
