Chestnut Market — Local services in Long Beach

Yesterday around 6:30pm .... I came into the market to buy produce. While checking out to pay there was a cat sitting on the register. The guy was extremely high and or drunk while petting the cat at work. I was trying to pay for my food and the cat hisse, the guy behind register proceeded to just pet it, as I was attempting to pay again this time the Cat scratches my palm while trying to pay, the guy just laughed and continued petting because he seemed high, the cat scratched me again and so I simply left the food that I was purchasing and walked out! I wasnt going to risk another attack by the Cat. My hands are stinging/burning from the scratches that hurt my skin. That was extremely unprofessional. Please run the tape and speak with that employee. I shop here often and this was my first bad experience there. I didn't appreciate being attacked by an animal while simply being a customer and...

The store is clean and organized. Good family like place. Also the clerks are nice and helpful. They are on the side of the customers even suggest sometimes the bargain price vs the higher price. Definitely a good place and convenient. Good place to get groceries and...
