I originally chose this facility to board my dog at because I called and spoke with a woman named Rosa and was impressed with her professionalism. I had several questions about the facility itself, and she happily answered all of them, making me feel comfortable enough to leave my dog there for a night. I dropped her off a few days later and everything went smoothly. The 2 staff members that I dealt with were great and very friendly. **Note: I requested that she be placed in an outdoor kennel in a specific area because there seemed to be more shade over there.
Pick up times in the evening are between 4-530pm, which I was very aware of the entire time. At 505pm, I received a phone call from Barbara and she asked if I was still coming to pick up Stella. I replied with a "yes" and her response was, "Ok, well we close right at 530pm." I thought that was a bit rude and unnecessary that she was calling me when I still had 25 minutes to pick up my dog, but I brushed it off.
I arrived at 520pm to pick up my dog and Barbara was there to take care of me. While I was being checked out, I asked her which kennel my dog was boarded in (I wanted to make sure she was placed in the general area that I requested). After looking at me like I have 5 heads, Barbara's exact response was, "What difference does it make?" I replied by telling her that I requested a specific kennel, and I asked her the question again. Instead of telling me where my dog was placed, she said (in a condescending tone), "Well, what kennel did you ask for?" Again, very rude and unnecessary behavior, especially with the condescending tone she had with me the entire time.
This experience started out positive and ended up turning into a negative one, all because of one person. Barbara desperately needs to work on the way she speaks to and treats people, seeing as she works in customer service. Needless to say, I will not ever be returning to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I could rate no stars because this place shouldn't get one. This boarding facility is awful. you have to be buzzed through several gates like a jail just to get to the entrance, and meanwhile dogs are fighting each other in the mud while some worker(?) is hosing all of them down. It was so loud I had to yell to be heard and it seemed dangerous when the worker outside started shouting at the dogs too. I came to board my cat and was very unhappy when I saw the place. The cats are placed in wood crates inside a broom closet with a dirty, cracked, concrete floor, with literal brooms and tools surrounding them. I was told they were let out to play once a day and felt so uneasy about it, given the flithiness of the place. Then they put a bed in the cage - and it was a pot-holder, covered in fur crusted over with something left from a previous owner. The worker I was talking to made a joke about kidnapping my cat, which made me very unhappy. I was down to my last straw when I asked for a quote on prices and it took them 3 tries (yes, with a calculator) to figure out a total, coming to a different sum each time. I quickly left and went somewhere else. I do not trust my cat's care there, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy dog stayed here for 2 nights while me and my wife traveled to Vegas.
The hotel itself is not the most luxurious⦠but the dogs š seems to be treated right! My doggo was happy when I got him back!
They are affordable too, I THINK it was $35 per night for the private suite.
Constructive criticism:
If they can do some renovations this place would be a STRONG competitor against Bark Bark. Like I said, itās not the most luxurious place.. my wife is already saying that she would rather leave him at bark bark next time because she didnāt like the visual of the place⦠I told her to not be judgmental, and that they took good care of our dog! But I do understand her perspective that she wants our dog to stay at the best place possible, and Mar Mel Inn is a good/affordable place, but not a wonderful/top pet...
