Insanely rude customer service. My husband called a few days ago looking for the Chaos Combat Patrol for our army and was told it would be in stock. He called today to confirm it had arrived, and they acted like he was crazy. The item is still listed on the manufacturer’s website and is still being sold elsewhere, but the person he spoke with told him he didn’t want to “argue” because he knew more than my husband about the topic and claimed that the Chaos Combat Patrol and its rules no longer exist (which isn’t true).
I usually avoid calling game stores myself because of how often women get treated badly in this hobby. So if they’re willing to treat my husband like this, it’s even less likely I’d want to go there. Maybe it was just a one-off, but considering how amazing HOG and Atomic Goblin have been over the years, we personally won’t be likely to give this new shop another chance. It’s sad to see another shop treat customers this way.

Thank you for your reply. However, there are a few things that need to be clarified.
When my husband first called, he was told the Chaos Daemons Combat Patrol would be in stock Thursday or Friday and that he could come pick it up then. That’s why he called back to check. If a customer calls in and is told a specific product will be in stock and available for pickup, it’s reasonable to expect the store to actually have it.
At no point did we specifically ask for Chaos Daemons as a standalone faction—we asked about the Chaos Combat Patrol box, which is still listed on the Games Workshop website. We’re aware of the recent changes in how Chaos Daemons fit into the game, but the product still exists and is being sold elsewhere. Atomic Goblin, for example, had it in stock and even checked the Games Workshop website to confirm its availability.
Also, the person my husband spoke to was not polite and spoke over him, saying he “didn’t want to argue” and insisting the box and rules didn’t exist. That’s the behavior we found rude and dismissive.
We appreciate your commitment to avoiding discrimination and gatekeeping, but our issue here is with how we were treated during this specific interaction, not with broader hobby dynamics. As a store that wants to cater to all demographics, it’s imperative that when a customer asks about a product, it’s assumed they know what they’re looking for, rather than treating them as if they’re asking for something impossible. As someone who has been treated like this at other stores (which is why my spouse often handles interactions first), it’s very concerning that someone would assume we didn’t know what we were talking about.
We were able to get this item at Atomic Goblin, where they were more than happy to look it up for us and verify they had the right product. The issue is not that you’re a new store, nor is it a matter of “old stock.” The issue is that we were told earlier in the week you would get a shipment, and then today, when we wanted to confirm it had arrived, we were treated like we had no idea how the faction works.
Thank you...
Read moreThis is a great store with a spacious play area. The owners are quite engaged with the clientele and eager to help with any questions about games or community events you might have.
One of the really striking features is just how large the actual play space is. The store can easily host 50 people without feeling crowded at all. They have numerous tables for card players (like magic and Pokémon) and several large additional tables for tabletop game players (Warhammer 40k, Age of Sigmar). The natural light is another wonderful feature-- it doesn't feel like a florescent cave in the way so many (most?) game stores do.
They have a great selection of singles for trading card games and a growing stock of miniature games. They're just getting started, but I have a feeling they will be a real hub for all things nerdy in the future. Definitely worth...
Read moreI am a pokemon TCG player and this store is the best thing that’s happened to my game-playing life. This is a store run by gamers for gamers and it honestly feels like home. This community is so helpful to newcomers and there’s always someone to lend you a deck if you’re just trying it out!
Every single staff member is competing for the title of “nicest person I’ve met in the gaming community” and they’re all winning.
Check the calendar to see if there’s a specific nights/events that cater to your interests, it’s worth checking out. Also they have a super active discord for setting up table top gaming meet-ups, from what I understand “finding a game” can be hard. But this store does everything they can to make it easy!!
Shout out to Lily, Lukas, and Liam!! And Rusty even tho his name doesn’t...
