It was interesting, when you look at it from the front, it looks like it's closed, but it's really not. Just one worker, literally nobody else seems to work here. I don't know his name. Store just has the blinds down because he has stuff on the windows on the inside of the store. Anyways, the store reminds me of my bedroom, unorganized and messy. Kind of... a hoard. I honestly had this urge to ask him if he wanted help cleaning his store, but I didn't ask... He doesn't have cameras in there, so if he stares at you it's because he's trying to see if you're shop lifting. I asked him "How much are these?" whilst pointing to the cards he had out on a table - he said "I haven't priced them yet". That's okay, but what I will say is he's got a ton of cool stuff in here, it's just everything in here is super awkwardly priced, it's kind of weird, like there's no tags on anything, he just has the price on his head. Not much walking space, so it can feel claustrophobic if you have claustrophobia. I had an uncomfortable feeling being there, but he would ask if I needed help frequently and then give a super short answer back... Or not respond at all. Honestly, can't blame him - I'm an introvert too. Interesting little...
Read moreThis is one of the worst comic shops I've ever visited. When you approach the place there's nothing to suggest it's ever been open. The shades are drawn and there are sun bleached leaflets from the 90's crumbling and disintegrating in the windows. Once inside you'll find long boxes of comics that are inaccessible due to tons of boxes and other comics piled on top. There's a layer of dust on everything and the comics you can access are in poor condition and obscenely overpriced. It's as if the shop were operating in an alternate dimension where the worse condition it was in, the more it was worth. The owner seems very disinterested in being there and that's immediately made apparent by the unopened product that occupies every space of the shop. If you want something just ask and he'll be happy to look up the latest asking price on his laptop, add 20% and gleefully inform you. There are no fair prices to be had here and your business is more of an inconvenience than a patronage. Why bother shopping here when you can pay the same price online? I'm not asking, the owner will...
Read moreCons: 1st: This place is incredibly uncomfortable to shop in. It’s way to small, messy for what he has going on, it’s chaos and unorganized, this guy should be on hoarders or have someone help him clean it up.
2nd: He stands over your shoulder like you are trying to steal making things more uncomfortable, forces you to wear a mask sorry buddy not our fault everyone looks like a robber take it up with the governor and the CDC or stop requiring masks.
3rd: He questions you if your phone is out because heaven forbid you scan comic books you can grade, slab and resell. Welcome to capitalism. People buy, sell and flip all day long. That’s part of collecting, trading, buying and selling. This guy has 0 idea what collecting comic books entails.
Pros: Two stars because he does ask if you need help to find anything and he knows his stock and not the worst prices; that’s about it. This place would be amazing if he chilled out and...
