5 STARS for Fabian and the Maintenance team!!! âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸
I rate the management's handling of stolen packages, safety, and security issues at 2 stars âď¸âď¸. One of the most frustrating and unacceptable problems here is the fire alarm constantly going off.. sometimes 2 or even 3 times a week. It happens at all hoursâ3 AM, 6 AM, 11 PM, you name it. Itâs become so common that no one takes it seriously anymore, which is extremely dangerous if there were ever a real emergency.
On top of all the fire alarm chaos, they also run alarm testing from 9 AM to 5 PM, sometimes for the entire day. They claim this is just an annual test and it even says that in their emails but in reality, it happens every few months. If you work from home, thereâs no way to take client calls, attend Zoom meetings, or focus on anything. It completely disrupts your entire workday/day!
Thereâs no longer a leasing office on-site! Itâs been moved to Marina del Rey, which is nearly an hour away, and even much longer with traffic! The maintenance team is kind and great and really doing what they can, but this building absolutely still needs a proper leasing office on the property. For a place thatâs advertised as a luxury apartment and considering the prices weâre paying and the area we live in this just shouldnât be the case.
The entrance, mailroom, and elevator are all in the same area, and itâs constantly a mess. Packages are piled up all over the floor, it smells bad, and the whole space feels dirty and neglected. Itâs honestly embarrassing to have guests walk through that when visiting. This is the first impression of the building, and itâs far from what anyone would expect from a so-called âluxuryâ residence or anything even close to it!
Another serious issue is mail theft. The mailboxes were broken into, and I later found out that someone has access to a master key which we were never informed about. My credit cards were stolen, and I ended up losing thousands of dollars that I was never able to recover. I had to hire an attorney and go through a long legal battle with the bank because of it.
I kept asking the building management for a copy of the police report, as my attorney needed it, but every time they told me I had to file one myself. Initially, they said there was a police report on file, but later admitting there wasn't. While I did file my own police report, that doesnât excuse the fact that the building should have filed an official report as well. This is a large property with hundreds of tenants, and yet thereâs been no real accountability for the theft of mail, personal information, identities, and credit cards. Packages and mail are constantly stolen here and absolutely nothing feels safe or secure.
Thereâs also the ongoing issue of people using units here as Airbnb rentals. Strangers who clearly donât live in the building are constantly coming and going with suitcases. Youâll see them parking, dragging in luggage, and when you ask, they openly admit theyâre here through Airbnb, some from other countries, others from different cities. Itâs completely absurd. This is supposed to be a safe, clean, residential building, but instead, it feels chaotic, transient, and unstable, more like a revolving door for travelers than a real community. The worst part is that management is aware of it, and it seems like some people are even allowed to do this legally. It makes no sense and completely destroys any sense of stability, safety, or community.
There has been a noticeable decline in these areas compared to 5 years ago when things were much better.
Fabian stands out as pretty much the only person who truly makes me feel like someone here actually cares. He is consistently professional, friendly, and always ready to help! Whenever I need assistance, he is the one who guides me or makes himself available. He consistently invests the time and effort to genuinely solve problems. I know many residents in this building share the same sentiment.
Once again, 5 âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ for Fabian and the Maintenance team!!! Thank you, for all...
Read moreWorst place Ive lived in & most negligent management. Left after 1 year. Details below but worst parts are:
2 credit cards were taken from my mailbox. USPS told 5600 that someone has master key to mailboxes but 5600 never told tenants
I had to send a demand letter & intent to sue to get my security deposit back. They didnt return it within CA laws 21 day limit despite having my new address before they issued check. Not surprised theyre currently facing a class action lawsuit on security deposits
Bait & switch Offered $500 bonus for a 1BR but after non-refundable fee paid, said "there are no overages of 1 beds" so no $500. There have always been 1BR openings despite "no overages"
Move in Given instructions for wrong property, no visitor code for months, AC & coax broken, & roaches. Was promised same day AC repair + portable AC (amid heatwave) but took until the next week & no portable AC given. This broke smarthome link & they refused to fix it, this is an advertised amenity built into rent but it never worked. 1 day in smart lock broke & locked me out. They needed a special tool but didnt have it, said it would take hours & I should go elsewhere to wait. I just moved cross country & car keys were in my apt so had nowhere to go. I sat on hallway floor for hours when I was supposed to be working as they tried to break in. They said they knew lock was faulty (last tenant put in 2 tickets) but never fixed it
I asked if apt was inspected before move in. Didnt get answer just a script I got from all staff Id talk to over the year: "this isnt the experience we want you to have." Offered rent credits since 1st week was unlivable but they werent given. After a month of ignored emails, calls, & VMs they told me they forgot to put it in
At lease end they blamed move in chaos on maintenance & said they got a new team but maintenance supervisor & staff are the same
Theft See USPS issue above. 5600 took no action. Whenever Id ask for updates I got the script. Once they claimed a tenants arrest & eviction solved the issue but it continued. They didnt admit there was an issue until it got too bad to ignore: in July mailboxes were broken into & left open for over 24hrs with alarms blaring & no attempt to secure them so whatever mail left wasnt taken. Next day they finally acknowledged this + a broken mailroom door lock but STILL didnt tell tenants that someone has a key & they knew since Feb
Package room also had theft (IF packages made it there, couriers didnt know about it since no signs). Packages were opened, emptied, resealed & left there. Police reports didnt help as camera footage wasnt kept past 1 day
If someone can get into locked mailboxs or locked package room whats stopping them from getting into my locked home?
Communication Emails ignored & staffing blamed. When staffed they arent transparent or proactive in announcing important things like mailboxes
Maintenance Fan & light randomly turned on & off. They closed 2 of 5 tickets over 6 months without even seeing it. Fixes only worked for few weeks before it broke again. Eventually there was no light in my living room as only light was from fan which stopped working entirely
Garage door broke (either stuck open or closed) at least 8 times & elevators broke every 2 weeks. When I asked why this happened so much they didnt think this was an issue as "eventually things get fixed." Amid thefts, garage stuck open for days IS an issue
Move out 6.5% increase but 1BR avg in 90036 was down 4.6% over the year so I gave my 30 day notice (they then listed my apt for cheaper than my rent). They told me Id be able to give my new address later for mailing my security deposit. This didnt occur until I got my final statement after I left. I gave my new address but they didnt respond for 11 days after I followed up 4 times. They sent my check to my old address AFTER I gave them my new one so I had take legal action (see top)
I know a scripted reply to this is coming to save face but if nothing improved in the past year (& before based on older reviews) I doubt...
Read moreI would give them a zero if I could. I would like to begin by saying that I have been living here for three years, and this is by far the worst "management" team I have ever experienced. The office is probably going to respond to my review by saying something like "I am so sorry you experienced x,y, and z but we did/will do our best to resolve the situation" and then leave me with contact info for a number of people I can reach out to. I have contacted and spoken with every person on management here, including Chrystal, Lauren, and the manager, Madeline. Of these people, NONE follow through with anything except for Fabian. To be fair, Chrystal is actually very nice, but it is not her fault that management cannot delegate tasks properly and efficiently...she needs time for proper training and cannot do everything by herself!! It took the office more than two and a half months to renew my lease. Imagine you had to move in and had no place to go? Two and a half. Let that sink in. As someone who works in customer service, I know what customer service looks like. This place is a dis-service to the customer.
Of the 5+ emails sent to management, I received a response to one. Of the countless times I sent our paperwork, they could never "find it" because despite being "professionals", none of them seem to communicate. Our lease was sent to us with errors not once, not twice, but THREE times because of misspelled names and personal information that was given to them with the correct information in WRITING. No one followed up with giving us access to the unit or the callbox. How, I ask, did they expect us to enter the unit?
Our apartment went through not one, not two, but THREE leaks because of the residents living above us. They are constantly vibrating our walls and running from one end of the apartment to the other like a trodding horse. I have complained about this time and time again, and of course, no response.
You can call the office...I can guarantee no one will pick up on the first try. Not the second. And maybe, just maybe, the third time will work. Maybe.
And, to top it off, THEY RAISED OUR RENT.
The only good thing about this place? Maintenance. Carlos, Miguel, Yvonne are all amazing. They always respond in a timely manner and are very friendly.
But as for everything else: DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE OF THE BUILDING, IT IS A LIE.
My only plea is to please, please, please BRING BACK STEFANIA GHILARDUCCI AS MANAGER!! I do not know if the staff is underpaid or just under-trained. Whatever the case, it is not okay. Housing is not a joke, this is a person's home. Please take it seriously. Otherwise, I will be packing my bags soon as are others who have lived here...
