I've had a drip coffee, a cold brew, a latte, and a double espresso over ice at Marlowe and all have been delicious. The drip coffee had no bitterness and was smooth even without milk. Other places will excel with their espresso drinks, but fall short with their drip — Marlowe is different, their drip is fantastic. And it only gets better. The cold brew was velveting with no sourness whatsoever. The chocolate notes shined through. Again, no milk and smooth as hell (and I always get milk in my coffee). The latte was top tier, perfect balance of espresso and milk. Smooth, comforting, and full of a flavor. The best part about the latte is it made me want to try their straight espresso. I don't know what kind of magic infused device they were using, but my double espresso over ice is one of the best I've had. I didn't know espresso could have that much flavor with such distinct notes. I always get espresso so that I can get my caffeine quick, but with Marlowe's espresso, I wanted to take my time drinking it.
If you don't know what to get, get an espresso, it's a treat! An adventure! It'll make you understand why coffee snobs are they...
Read moreEvery once in a while, you walk into a place and immediately feel that it gets it. This coffee shop isn’t just serving caffeine — it’s crafting an experience.
The coffee? Immaculate. Every cup is brewed with intention, from the nutty richness of their espresso to the smooth, layered complexity of their pour-overs. Whether you’re a die-hard black coffee purist or someone chasing the perfect flat white, they deliver — consistently.
The space strikes that rare balance between vibrant and calm. It’s the kind of place where creatives can write for hours, friends catch up over cortados, and business meetings happen without the clamor of a chain cafe. Natural light pours in, the playlist is unobtrusively tasteful, and the design feels equal parts minimalist and warm.
But what truly elevates this shop is the people. The baristas aren’t just technically skilled — they’re passionate. They remember names, they know their beans, and they care about getting it right.
In a city full of overhyped spots and generic brews, this place stands out for all the right reasons. Come for the coffee, stay for the atmosphere, and leave already planning...
Read moreThe recently-opened Marlowe Coffee located in Mid-Wilshire has a classy yet minimalist decor, with both tables that are well-sized for working and also a cute couch for yapping. The mirrors on the wall add a nice homey touch to the space. We got there around 9 a.m. and we were able to easily find seats, although it does get busier later in the day. The table height is a little low for working, although the height varies a lot depending on the table and which side you sit on.
Their menu is simple with just your most traditional coffee and matcha offerings, but that's perfect for my indecisiveness. My friend got the Marlowe and I got their latte, and we both agreed that it was a nice coffee drink with chocolatey notes that is well-complimented by their milk. ( think they use Clover milk and Califia Farms Barista Blend.)
The cherry on top was that the WiFi was outstandingly fast (500 Mbps), some tables had outlets, and the barista was so nice! Music is pretty chill and...
