Just played their new room, The Wicked Witch. Not a great experience. Absolutely no story building upon entrance into the room. Design quality was quite poorly done and cheap over all as compared to other escape rooms Iâve played. For claiming to be âthe most immersive escape rooms in Americaâ I found the immersive quality to be quite lacking. While, yes, the door was designed as part of the room and seemed hidden, there was no other immersive quality out into the intro. We were led into the room, told to put our items in a box in the corner of the room. We were expecting to at least be lead into a dark room but it was brightly lit and we could see everything. As soon as the room began a puzzle popped open without being solved and the game master just told us âdonât worry about itâ. There wasnât a lot of clear direction from one puzzle to another or where each puzzle actually was placed in the room. At one point we had to be told where a puzzle was over the speakers by the game master because it was near something we were told to ignore at the beginning of the room. Moving from one space to another was clear and story-wise pretty pleasing however the ending was⊠it left a lot to be desired. We didnât even know that it was over until the game master came in and said it was over. Also the game audio was so quiet I couldnât hear it most of the time. Not the music or character speech throughout the entire room. Would not recommend. Before we started playing we were told it was a 75min room and they were trying to cut it down to 60min but my team and I got out in less than 30min. Felt like a waste if Iâm gonna be honest, I spent longer doing my makeup than playing the room which shouldnât be the case hah. But if you wanna play it, go for it I wonât stop you. Also the âwitchâ character you meet at some point in the room??? Little bit more like Rumplestiltskin...
Read moreDid Houdini and Hyde Circus! 10/5 stars. !! Honestly I was super amazed and still in awe at the set design and the interactions between the players and the room. Really impressed at how big the rooms are. These place among the top 3 in the escape rooms that I have ever done [iâve done more 70].
Houdini - the set design is amazing. It a very physical room, and it doesnât really require too much brain power. But the different tasks in the room will leave you in shock. At both rooms the interactive puzzles are fun and engaging for the whole team. The set design is very nice, and immersive almost as though Iâm actually there. This room actually came out to me as more ârealâ than a decorated room with puzzles, in fact it probably made more sense with the theme. Certain times in the room definitely got my heart beat up, but it was some of the most exciting times LOL. Expect sudden movements, climbing, crawling, and lots of fun
Hyde Circus - This escape room starts an an actual train, I have never saw that somewhere else. Usually escape rooms start in a âroomâ. But honestly was pleasantly surprised. This room more âbrainâ puzzles. Wouldnât say the puzzles are that difficult, but they are really fun. The set is very beautiful, in the first room you are on an actual train. Both a variety of traditional and electronically locks, enjoyed the mixture.
update -- forgot to add Our game master was Patrick, from the moment we walked inside we felt extremely welcomed and he created a vibe which felt welcoming. He's also very personable and fun making the whole experience also enjoyable. The room can be epic but a game master also plays a key role in making sure the players have fun. He was good at giving hints, and often knew when we needed help. He was also very patient and seemed to play the role of a character also....
Read moreIâm part of an Escape Room group that does anywhere between 5-10 different rooms per month. We visit various companies across Los Angeles, and unfortunately the Silver Lake 60out falls squarely at the bottom of the list.
Last night (10/12/25) our group did the Houdini room. During the experience it felt as if one of the mechanisms malfunctioned and I ended up hitting my head fairly hard. After we completed the room, we discussed the puzzles with the game master (who was lovely), and we asked about a number of items in the room that very much seemed like part of the experience. It was explained that some items have been worn out and are no longer part of the room.
Last year, our group did the Hyde Circus room. There was a puzzle that we are certain we entered a correct code for, and it didnât open, which was confirmed by the game master. It cost us a lot of time in the room and soured the overall experience.
The location itself has various signs including one of the bathrooms being out of order, with the other bathroom posting signs not to lean on the sink, or how to flush the toilet if it doesnât work.
Overall it seems as if this location is falling apart. It needs some proper upkeep and maintenance, and Iâd suggest trying other...
