For parts of the review I am going off of what my friend said who lived in LA for over ten years. Our tour guide Heather was pleasant and was knowledgeable. She did a great job standing up and being tossed around and still telling the stories.
A few things that my friend pointed out was us needlessly taking the freeway. We sat in traffic for a good 15 min. Then again, I’m not familiar with the best routes, so that could’ve just been my friend griping lol
The other thing we were unsure about was the one and only stop we did make to get off the bus. It was an interesting place, and full of history, but the area was a little sketchy. That being said, it may have been the safest place to get off logistically. It was a good stop in the sense that it was definitely a place that is not discussed anywhere really. The name escapes me, but it was the site of an early riot in the late 1800s. We passed by The Roosevelt Hotel, where we had just had dinner. I’m imagining the hotel wouldn’t want a ghost tour coming through there, but if it was possible, that would’ve been a much better stop. I do realize stops to The Cecil and others were just not safe.
We did rush through dinner to make the 6:45 arrival, only to wait until around 7:15 to leave. The bus was amazing and super comfortable, the only problem with that is that my friend is 6’1, so he was basically staring at the sidewalk the entire time. I noticed other tall men doing the same. Which is something I know you can’t really fix unless it was a rooftop ride. The windows were also tinted waaay too dark, but again, I don’t know what is best for this type of tour.
Lastly was the price point. I know in LA everything is more expensive, but I think the price was a little steep compared with other tours I’ve been on across the country.
All of the pertinent stops were covered though, and despite being a nerd and knowing about these places in advance, I definitely learned something.
Thank you all for working hard! I don’t want to fall into the trap “some people are never happy” category, I always try to give positive feedback on reviews as well as feedback on what could be...
Read moreIf you're looking for a fun and entertaining way to spend an evening uncovering the most haunted hangouts on Hollywood Boulevard, this tour is for you. To my delight, despite being the only person who signed up for the tour, it wasn't canceled. This is a rare treat, and I commend the company for this decision. Cassie was my guide, and she was incredible. She's an excellent and well-researched storyteller who clearly has a passion for what she does. Over the course of 2+ hours, we stopped at various spots along the Walk of Fame, and she regaled me with entertaining tales of mostly happy, always famous haunts. I've been on ghost walks all over the world (literally), and this was my favorite by far. The stories were never cheesy or gory. They were enlightening, light-hearted, and fun. Cassie even used photos and videos to enhance the stories and paint a vivid picture. While we didn't come face to face with any ghosts that night, we did have a strange technology glitch that seemed too well timed to be a coincidence. Something supernatural was in the air that night. If you have a couple of hours to kill (pun intended) one night, be sure to check out this tour, and if you can, ask for Cassie!
Note: As a solo traveler, this is a safe way to spend an evening out in a new city. I can't...
Read moreI’m a local to La, and like everyone else, I thought I knew almost everything about my city; This tour put me in my place. It hit so many cool spots, places you’ve heard about but never actually gotten to see. And besides the major stops, our guide Cassie kept us entertained with facts and stories along the route we drove. She had an excellent wealth of knowledge and a great sense of humor. People had chances to share their own spooky experiences as we ventured into the darker history of Hollywood and downtown. There were so many places I’ve walked by a hundred times before, without any clue as to the sordid history that took place there. You’re allowed to bring drinks onboard (just no glass) which was a fun plus if that’s your thing. If you come to visit, or even live locally, and want something truly unique and exciting to do, I very much...
