Traumatically neglectful - that's my experience with Dr Malumud
Being understaffed is no excuse to scam the health care system, cashing in on "appointments" that you barely show up to. Shame on you, Doctor Malamud, for the neglect you show each patient that you know you don't have the staff to support.
Shame on your office staff, and the lack of "care" in the health care you allege to provide. How crude and rude they are to sick patients is close to bullying behavior.
The doctor didn't show for appointments, or showed very late. The doctor was unprepared for the appointment - to the point that the office staff asked ME if I saw the doctor, asked ME for notes from the appointment.
The doctor prescribed my medication incorrectly - the reason I switched doctors is because I need to carefully monitor the medication I'm taking. I was left hanging entirely by Dr Malumud and his team.
The doctor dismissed me from care suddenly two days prior to my appointment that I had waited for weeks to see the doctor finally. Suspiciously close in timing to when I submitted a grievance with my insurance company. They told my insurance company it's because "they don't like how I act."
Because I advocate for timely healthcare for myself? Or because I hold the doctor accountable for his mistakes? Not really sure which it is, they didn't answer that question, and instead made it out to seem that I was harassing them. Then they went on record to state the reason I was dismissed was due to noncompliance with lab testing - labs that I requested for myself, not the doctor. Labs that have to be scheduled 3+ months in advance, that I could not possibly have completed yet.
Doctor Malumud dismissed me from care knowing I have a diagnosed illness that causes malnourishment without appropriate medication, without a treatment plan, without another doctor in sight. The next appointment I'm able to get is months away. So, now I have no doctor due to Malamud's distinct lack of care for his patients.
Please retire, doctor. This profession clearly isn't suited for you. Please stop scamming the healthcare system so you can collect those retirement dollars - just go away somewhere you can't harm...
Read moreThe doctor spoke with me for a few minutes on the phone and then transferred me to a receptionist named Janet to make an appointment for an outpatient procedure the following week. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes the receptionist never answered so I left a voicemail. Later in the afternoon, I called back since I never heard from the receptionist. I left a message with a different person who said Janet would call me back. The following day I called again, but no one answered. After the weekend I tried yet again and finally was able to reach someone. Then explaining the situation that Janet was not returning my calls, the person on the other end of the phone said they were Janet and apologized profusely. We made my appointment, which was a week later than expected due to the lack of communication.
When I arrived to have my outpatient procedure done, the facility told me my appointment had been canceled by this office. No one from the office called To inform me of this change. Once again I had to call the doctors office and was transferred to Janet. Janet said she didnât know what wouldâve happened, she was baffled! She committed to doing some research and calling me back. Then 20 minutes later she returned my call and said she had recorded the wrong insurance information for me, which prompted the cancellation. She said she would further investigate with the insurance and call me back to arrange for the next available appointment. That was more than 10 days ago and I havenât heard from Janet ever since.

Read moreI have no idea if the Dr. is any good as I wasn't able to get past the rude AF receptionist. After being referred by my insurance for persisting stomach pain, I was told I'd have to wait two and a half months to see the doctor. I made the appointment just in case and then tried to get my referral marked urgent. When I called back I was told my appointment hadn't been made and that I could now get one in THREE months, but that I would need my referral renewed because it expired three months from when it was approved. On neither call did the receptionist show any sign of sympathy or humanity or understanding. I was ultimately referred to another doctor, and found out that Dr. Malamud was on vacation and that's why he couldn't see anyone sooner. The receptionist could have told me that instead of being the miserable __ that she is. Don't waste your time here, there are other excellent GI offices in the Los Angeles area. Dr. Malamud you're definitely not being served well...
