Aritzia — Local services in Los Angeles

I’ve gone to this Aritzia for years + I have always been a loyal Aritzia customer. I’ve been meaning to write this review for years, but I just finally remembered to.

The staff here are the rudest, out of any Aritzia, and maybe even any store I’ve been to. I get that they work on commission, but the way that they profile potential customers is crazy. I know this, because I have been treated differently based on how i’m dressed. The funny part is that it’s not even dressed nice + not dressed nice. I can have on an expensive pair of jeans with a t-shirt on — with no brand names showing — but I’ll still not be treated right. Maybe it’s because I’m a minority. However… whenever I show up in my Alo or Madhappy sweatsuits I am treated like royalty. The difference is so stark and obvious. Also, I do have a significant purchase history at Aritzia — they also generally change their attitude at the counter, when they look up my number. They start telling me that I can return final sale items and whatnot, unprompted.

I have only ever shopped at this location if I didn’t have a choice. I have shopped at many Aritzias in many cities — SF, ATL, all the NYC locations, probably more, and the staff here are the worst, by far. I moved out of LA and returned to this location on a trip this weekend, and I was so put off by how I was a treated, and I probably noticed it more, since I don’t live there anymore. I have to completely revamp my closet due to a recent size change. I have spent a god awful amount of money at Aritzia, and I was ready to do it again, but I was disgusted by the employees here and lost interest in shopping.

It’s also funny how 1) Aritzia is not a luxury brand lol and 2) most people that shop there earn more than the people that work there, so I’m not sure what the staff think they know about people…

I guess if these people want to work on commission in Aritzia forever, and this is working okay for them, they can keep doing it. But, if they want to go anywhere in life I suggest that they...

I took a few days to relax in LA- opted to do a little shopping while I was there. I loved Aritzia -until my experience at this store! Where do I start! The lack of Melanin was scary! There was a sales associate who walked past me several times and not once asked if I needed assistance and when I finally did ask for help- she waved a response- and no she was not helping anyone! The same person strolled around helping everyone else - and making jokes with other staff. I am mad at myself for not asking Mamés but if o saw her in a line up- I would be able to identify her! Longish died blondish hair with a whispy bang-

As I was checking out- another woman felt the need to yell out from 10 feet away “you know those are final sale?!” - I was perplexed by what she said- she did not greet me- or ask me if I found everything ok- nor offer assistance that she felt the need to blurt this out! The cashier (a tall Asian woman) looked embarrassed by the exchange. The cashier was probably the only helpful person in the entire store! And for the record- the item is NOT final sale- if it were it should have been tagged as such! I checked with other stores!

I spent so much time planning my sister’s bachelorette party I forgot to shop and prepare for it myself. I realized about a week before (a weekend in Napa) that I had no dresses to wear and found one online I liked so I went to Westfield’s location to see if they had it. They did not but helped me problem solve- before I even told them my situation they offered to help me order it and offered quicker shipping. They had me try on a similar dress from the same brand and looked up options. When I was worried about it arriving on time they offered to ship it to the vrbo I was staying at directly. The customer service was insane, Kennedy was a gem, the manager working was so kind. I got my dress and had so many compliments, people were raving about how good it looked. This was my first time shopping here and I will definitely be back....
