Bacio di Latte | Westfield Century City, LA — Restaurant in Los Angeles

From visit on 4.12.24 Bacio de Latti is one of my favorite and top gelato cafes around the Los Angeles area. Since Amorino closed during the pandemic, this is one of the BEST gelato cafes in the area and the Friday and Saturday night crowds show the popularity. I'm very particular these days, having explored many options...so pros/cons:

Pros: BEST CHOCOLATE gelato since Grom in Malibu and Hollywood closed during the pandemic. Also, very comparable when it was still there. Several varieties to choose from, my favorites being the Hazelnut Chocolate (which I got this time) and the Belgium Chocolate or 3 flavor chocolate...all sooo good! Rich, creamy and premium ingredients. There's also Nutella options if you haven't upgraded your taste palette yet.

Other great flavors: Mint (one of the best options in town), the new Amerena Cherry (so close to how good the Amorino Gelato was, if you remember/know) and their Pistachio Mousse.

Flavors are strong enough to savor, creamy with some options having a hint of texture (no one does texture like Anita's Gelato in Tarzana).

They do give decent sized taste samples upon request, which help me pick my flavors. Some places are stingy and while they aren't super generous either, it's sufficient as long as you don't over do it like I want to.

Though pricy, pints are ready for faster take out. Don't expect it to be as smooth and creamy until it thaws a bit obviously.

Cons $$$ Higher prices than some other options, but similar to the best Gelato cafes in town.

$$$ Prices/serving sizes changed over the past few years as they've gained popularity and post pandemic. I seriously recall a 4th extra large size and it being around the same price or maybe even $1 less than the large is now...definitely feels like they shrank their sizes and upped their prices. Excellent quality, but it bums me out how expensive it's gotten. Pints are close to $15! Slightly higher than some of the other best Gelato or Ice Cream options (ice cream is different, but similar, but Gelato is worth more time to be clear).

Service can be hit or miss, I've had really good CSRs and some not so great ones, including some kinda rude managers...I've even asked my CC for a refund once, but am usually fine enough to come back. I am not usually wowed by the service, though. But they work consistently and do what they can I guess. I'm picky since I have a lot of Customer Service experience myself and deeply care.

Very popular, this can be a good thing in terms of business and quality of product, but heads up if you go during peak hours, expect a line and a bit of a wait.

Melts very quickly, similarly to Capri Gelato. I love that it is that smooth and creamy, it's why I often crave it over other places, but it won't keep for long rides (heads up delivery drivers: warn your customers if it's a far drive).

Limited selection of mainly traditional flavors, which is usually what I want, but if you like more adventurous options try Wanderlust Creamery (ice cream, not gelato) or Anita's or Tifa Gelato or Fatamorgana (I've tried the Studio City location, haven't tried the nearby B Hills one).

Westfield Mall parking is annoying and only free for a limited time. Bacio does not validate last I checked.

Typical mall sitting options outside. No indoor seating. No wifi or outlets, so not ideal for meetings, unless there is a comfy enough spot in the mall, which is usually loud and crowded.

Best gelato I’ve ever had in my life!! I don’t think I usually like gelato as much as regular ice cream but I would come back for this gelato. It’s an upscale location - beautiful interior and exterior, located in the first floor by the front entrance of the Westfield century city mall. It always smells so good when I walk by and I decided to try it in a Sunday early evening; the lines usually get longer the later it seems. They make their waffle cones fresh and on the spot so it comes warm when you get a cone. I got the lavender and pistachio flavors and honestly it was really really good. I did like the lavender better but both were super tasty, very quality. It had a creamy milky thick texture to it and it wasn’t overly sweet like American ice cream but it was definitely sweet and delectable - fine dining / upscale dessert vibes. My photos don’t do it justice at all but the gelato was very very good. Would highly recommend coming here for dessert if you’re visiting the mall, a tourist etc. plus, there’s plenty of outdoor seating and a little patio across from it for its customers to stand or sit....

I absolutely adore Bacio di Latte! It's my go-to spot for ice cream in LA, and I never leave Century City Mall without indulging in a scoop (or two). My all-time favorite flavor is the coffee gelato - it's rich and creamy, with the perfect amount of caffeine kick. But the nutellina flavor is a close second there's actual Nutella pieces in the gelato - it's so indulgent and heavenly.

What I love also about this gelato place is that it's not too sweet it's a perfect balance.

But the gelato isn't the only thing that sets Bacio di Latte apart. Their waffles are homemade, and they are absolutely the best waffles I've ever had. I love getting a waffle cone with a scoop of coffee gelato and a scoop of nutellina - it's the perfect combination.

Overall, Bacio di Latte is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves ice cream and waffles. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It's my favorite place for a sweet treat, and I can't...
