Google says this place will close at 8 PM. We arrived at 7:20, anxious that the place closed early due to covid. There has been a sign that read “be back in 10 min.” We thought person went to bathroom or something. It’s been 50 degrees outside so we shivered for 15 min. Nothing. We decided to walk around some stores to avoid the cold and came back at around 7:45. Nothing. We saw someone move behind the curtain so we knocked on the glass to get the person’s attention, but no one came. We were still anxious that we missed the business hours bc we traveled a long way to come here so we began calling. Their business opens till 9 PM on the phone. We called Westfield information center, the security center, etc and they told me theres nothing they can do. Then a security guard came by at 8 PM and told us the store is in break until 8. At this point, our hands were so cold we couldn’t feel them. Finally the person comes out at 8:10 and then yells at us for knocking and for calling. She said she usually takes a longer break than 10 min and that we should’ve just been patient. (How are we supposed to know) We explain our situation and tell her we were just nervous we missed the time bc google says business hours are until 8 PM. She yells at us and tells us that we shouldve left her alone bc she felt scared by the calls and the knocks.
Dude… then get a sign that says youll be back in 30 min or that youre on break. Or answer the call and tell someone youll be back by 8. How are we supposed to know that? Very unique japanese sweets? Yes. But it’s not like these cannot be found in Little Tokyo. For the rudeness and inconsiderate attitude, I’m never coming here again. I used to come to this place (for the past 4 years), recommend it to my friends, and post about it....
Read moreAmazing selection of wonderful Japanese sweets and treats. I love that they have individuals you can buy if you don't want an entire pack of cookies or mochi.
Everything is displayed so nicely and open just like you find in Japan and I absolutely love that!
Staff is friendly, but that's where and why I'm only giving 4 stars - the cashier didn't have a clue about this company or the store. I asked simple questions like which prefecture the store or owners originated, or even if everything is imported from Japan or if anything is made here in the US. He didn't know anything. Whether it's lack of training or the laziness from the cashier to learn, it's not a good look...
Read moreUpon arrival into the store we immediately felt unwelcome. We were not acknowledged and when we asked for assistance in clarifying the differences in the desserts the sales associate flat out said “I can’t help you if you don’t know what you like.” It was pretty apparent that we were inconveniencing the two sales associates by trying to purchase the products for sale. We found the store to be immaculate, displays were beautifully presented and the staff was chillier than the weather we left behind in Canada. We made our selections, purchased some product and will not be back nor do we recommend this store to anyone interested in being...
